So rusty, bits missing, incorrectly described, high mileage, questionable service history... I dont think its a good buy for 2.5k either. Ive bought minter ones for <2k. Let's do lunch. Sure there are some, enough to make the connection, but it doesnt mean they are all like that. My wagon is a UK import, was there for 6 years before coming here, no rust on it at all, and the only rust that ever has been taken out of it was around the windscreen from a poor windscreen replacement, nothing to do with salty roads. Lots of 10 year old cars riddled with rust, even saw a 5 year old commercial van rotten through on the bottom of the back doors. The last manual one i bought at $1500 and sold it for $1200, was rugged exterior wise but drove\handled well even at 450,000km i dont know why people always assume that. A bit like the Singapore electrical issues. Sure there are some, enough to make the connection, but it doesnt mean they are all like that. The Singaporean issues are similar - look after the car and it doesn't matter. That said, my understanding is that Singaporean cars rarely get to stretch their legs hich can't be a good thing in the long term. My diesel gets choked up on the run to Hamilton because it's only turning at 2000rpm most of the time. Take each car on it's individual merits. I owned Alfa Romeos that didn't rust... Southern UK gets no more snow than most of North Island NZ but north of the midlands the roads will be salted most winters... It's the salt you have to watch. If the car lived on the South coast of England and didn't drive north of the Watford Gap it won't be any worse than an NZ new in terms of potential rust.
