Cab 148 Report post Posted May 3, 2016 (edited) Any paint pen from the stationery shop works fine, it's no secret type. Just make sure there's no silicone on your tyres. The only sh*t ones are the ones designed for tyres. The ones with the square nib work best. UNI Posca works well. Edited May 3, 2016 by Cab
MISS BM 712 Report post Posted May 4, 2016 Ain't no vivid lol. Didn't try the pens as many said weren't worth it.

MISS BM 712 Report post Posted May 4, 2016 Why so cagey? If people gave out their tricks everyday, it wouldn't be a trick anymore, would it? Jokes, It's a grout pen lol. Eager beavers on here eh

Eager beavers on here eh Isn't the point of this forum to share our 'tricks' and knowledge with other members so all can benefit? For what its worth, painting the logos on tyres is not something I like the look of, but others might and will want to know how to do it. Rant over.

MISS BM 712 Report post Posted May 5, 2016 You were a little coy there Miss Amber. But I've come to expect that. To be honest, given the opinions of many on how "horrid" and stupid tyre lettering looked, I didn't even think people would ask how I did it, once I had done it! Other forums, not this one - you're all a lovely bunch on here Grout pen worked okay.. Whether it lasts is another story. I shall update as time goes on
CSET 583 Report post Posted May 22, 2016 Keen to see how long the tyre lettering lasts. The issue I had with the $11 UNI Paint pens from Supercheap was yellowing after 3 months or so. Whether it was caused by age or cleaning/tyre protection (or a combo of the two) I don't know. Vinyl lettering could be an option next if your method doesn't last - there's a few applying it now. Yeah I have removed it as decided will just be for photos/meets. Vinyl lettering is around $200+ so not worth it at all Happy to get my pen out and redo! zero 1162 Report post Posted June 17, 2016 How much to do subframe Amber? I presume you mean reinforcing plates, and not bushings?
MISS BM 712 Report post Posted June 17, 2016 How much to do subframe Amber? I presume you mean reinforcing plates, and not bushings? Yeah reinforcing plates. Not sure what the current pricing is but I believe around the $1,000 mark.. Give or take. Most likely closer to $1200 I think.

Cool, and which brand of plates do you recommend? I seem to remember you getting this done on your old car. Me and my mate will be doing the reinforcing on his e36 in the next month or two. Me and my mate will be doing the reinforcing on his e36 in the next month or two. I will be using Ray for it as the job he did on the Schnitzer was perfect, and so was my old M3. The plates are customised with Ray But I believe the ECS tuning brand are good

MISS BM 712 Report post Posted June 17, 2016 What made you decide on ccfl angel rings and not led? The last ones travelled over 40,000ks always on and still going today. I don't like the "in your face" look of the LED, doesn't look factory at all. CCFL have a nice light, colour and factory touch to them
