Engine in the BMW is probably at the opposite end of the car to the Fiat though? Bit of googling show the Fiat 850 Coupe was introduced in 1965 and the BMW 1600 GT was 1968. However, the BMW was based in the 1964 Glas GT which they acquired so the specific design appeared to come first. Probably developed at same time though. Fiat was 670kg and 47hp.
