Car is still live, current WOF, reg on hold, guy hit a pedestrian pole dead center of car

It's probably uneconomic to repair. Have any professionals looked at it for you ? What are your mechanical skills like ?

Ooops....just looked a photos. That's a write off. I would bail out of that now and cut your loses

Cost me 1k for car 1200 for engine, its done just over 140xxxks mechanical skills are above average, headlights not damaged, already repaired bumper, panel beater mate said chassis is all good, just really need pics and stuff like that so I know how it all goes back together, I'm a BMW virgin but this was a bargain I wasn't going to let slip through my fingers

Given what these can be picked up for these days in good condition I don’t know why you would want to tackle this job.

It's gonna cost me 3.5k all up, not bad I don't think haha damage looks worse than it is, look past the damage please, all I really need help with is piecing it back together, I have no reference to go off

you know the whole front end of these are ali ??

have to be repaired properly and with special glues , revits etc , 

all those front msport parts are expensive and rare ,

im  selling a whole complete 2003 545i with wof and reg for $4500 , I bet you cant put that car back together for that

I agree it's not a DIY repair and requires special tools and specialist knowledge

Both Brent and Glenn have years of dealing with bm's in every state possible so would heed what they have to saw. But try BMW fans its a parts cat and will give you some idea of what goes were.  http://bmwfans.info/parts-catalog/E60N/Europe/530i-N52N/R-N/apr2007/browse/bodywork/. Also use the search section believe someone else tryied what you are doing and it did not end well. But best of luck with it.

Really? From the photo you have posted you can see what looks to me like the end of the chassis rail bent through 45 degrees and crushed. That doesn't look too easy to replace correctly.

The link to the parts catalogue is helpful, but you really need the full repair manual that shows exactly how things are to be removed and replaced.

Was the accident not recorded, I would have thought it would have been with that amount of damage?

Isn't it funny how many people manage to hit things smack bang in the middle of the car... but can't seem to steer around it, even with ABS??

I would doubt it could be fixed for less than $20,000... why bother, the airbag system alone will set you back at least 10,000. After deployment the whole system needs replacing to get certified

Gobsmacked. This is news to me (not that I know anything), so you are saying that in any crash where the airbags deploy, all the airbags, associated wiring computers and sensors need replacing, or "just" the airbags?

airbags go off , pretensioners ,srs battery switch and sometimes the control module gets fried .

some engineers wont sign off on used airbags fitted  etc ,

Have had a mint 06 530D with 160km at work the last couple of days to replace glow plugs & the original battery.

Owner said he was offered $6K at the stealers as a trade on a same 2013 F10. 

E60's are cheap as chips now!

Update: bypassed airbag's, no fault light coming on, replaced steering wheel airbag, replaced engine, got someone to do the metalwork for a box of piss, cost so far 2.7k, don't need go for recertification, as is still reg and wof, everyone thinking of that prim and proper way, I'm thinking outside the box and am going to have a nice and safe e60, don't ya just love the haters

Bypassed airbags? Metal work fixed properly for a box of piss. Nice & safe E60. Ummm dunno bout that. Not a hater either, just a realist!
