For some reason I thought they all came with the dreaded GA6L45R boxes. RealOEM states my Pre-LCI only had the GA6HP19Z. My pre-LCI Japanese import 130i has the ZF 6HP19Z, I'm pretty sure it's only the LCI variants that may have the GM 6L45 transmission.

Danch 37 Report post Posted yesterday at 10:24 AM I need help with finding the right bonnet latch cable. The latch mechanism finally gave away and it looks like the wall holding the rear cable ring is broken in the junction box. I tried putting some epoxy around it but it worked once and then the epoxy broke off. I wanted to try swapping the front cable with unbroken junction box so I picked one off from 116i in Pick a Part but it's a lot shorter than what I have in my car. I looked up RealOEM and part number 51237184603 is shared across all 1 series so I'm not sure why mine is different to the one from 116i. Has anyone ordered bonnet latch cable (or Bowden cable) for 130i?
exextatic 147 Report post Posted yesterday at 06:23 PM The cables change part number depending on whether the vehicle was manufactured before or after June 2006 - that might explain the length difference you're seeing? I've replaced both cables on my 130i previously without issue, though I'd have to go digging to find the part numbers I'd used. My 130i is a relatively early pre-facelift model so it was likely 51247145933 and 51237060529.
AndyB 20 Report post Posted yesterday at 08:11 PM I bought a replacement cable (both sections) from BMW, and it wasn’t too expensive. I can’t remember the exact price, but around $
