In some European countries (Italy, of note) the road taxes on engines over 2000cc are huge. Hence the existence of the Masseratti Bi-Turbo...1998cc , twin turbo. In the old days taxes were done purely on engine size. 518... a 'luxury automobile' with small taxes. I'd contest the seller claim that most came with auto transmissions. I saw this very car prowling around the backstreets of CHCH a few days ago, and can confirm that they do in fact look as stupid in the metal as they do in the photos.
