Neal 545 Report post Posted March 21, 2013 Would a 3rd gear run give a reliable reading ? My e46 m3 which is standard as far as I know read 230 kw at the hubs on a dynapack hub dyno . Seems 30 - 40 kw too high based on other and too close to the v8 m3 Couldn't run in higher gears due to the smg wanting to change down at the run start. Ahmedsinc 414 Report post Posted May 24, 2013 1996 323i 320000kms blue with m52 intake, red with m50 intake 2 inch exhaust, no cat, otherwise standard Thats a surprising result, I was of the understanding that the M50 intake made a large difference to the M52. Similar top end figures but much later in the curve. Would an ecu remap make better use of the different inlet tracts?

Similar top end figures but much later in the curve. Would an ecu remap make better use of the different inlet tracts? Most definitely, considering the ecu is currently mapped for the intake velocities and air quantities that the smaller intake tracts provide a remap would provide the biggest improvement but as far as I am aware the obd2 ecu cant be remapped like the m50 ecu can. IPLEZR 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2013 My e30 at the moment running 12psi at a 65% tune is putting out 270hp at the wheels and has done a 13.42 at night speed on all 4 chromes. was doing 174.something km/h at the speed trap. still in need of retune at higher boost etc but not bad for now. Mine is now making 268.7kW, around 360hp at the wheels, 98 octane @ 18psi. Car is tuned to give it a hard time and safely handle it so has more in it if i wanted to push it (but i dont). Weighed car and full tank and babys car seat was 1200kg on the dot. Will find out ET when the track is finished at meremere and race at winter wars. Mahi 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2016 Should mention that was on 98 RON with a slipping clutch and boost overshoot/throttle closure through the midrange, hence the Himalaya-like torque curve . Have since replaced the clutch with a Spec 2+ and have the boost overshoot sorted out.
