So after some time to think, I've decided to do a build thread about my new daily projects or how i came about it. So I went on the hunt for a E34 sedan as i love the shape. Managed to score the 540i sedan off joKer here on bimmersport. Wasn't in the prettiest of shape but fixable. So on the hunt for parts to fix up the sedan and I see this comment on a trade me ad. Seller saying wheels were off a e34 540i touring and he was looking at selling that one day. I hit him up and he's keen to sell. Nice I'm thinking to myself i have a complete car to strip parts from! So long story short I pick up the touring and it is is such mint condition apart from sitting for 3 years. it would be an utter shame to wreck this beast. So this is where i am now with a daily E34 540i sedan and rare E34 540i touring that i plan to New Plans #̶1̶ ̶c̶o̶n̶v̶e̶r̶t̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶m̶a̶n̶u̶a̶l̶ #1 Daily E34 sedan - swap to m60b44 and convert to manual #̶2̶ ̶d̶o̶ ̶a̶ ̶m̶6̶0̶b̶4̶4̶ ̶s̶w̶a̶p̶ #2 Sunday driver E34 touring leave auto and m60b40 add supercharger So currently both cars are running. Sedan just a general clean, got bonnet painted and fitted new from bumper. The touring had a bit of work to get it going mainly a new fuel pump, drain old fuel, new oil, dry out the carpet and a good scrub. Here are some picture of before and after of how both vehicles looked. after pictures enjoy team.

Speeding, mate... It's all about the speed. Or so we are continually told. Of course, placing wire strand barriers on either side of the highway, reducing available space for vehicles who have stopped for any reason to get away from the carriageway, won't be a factor. Even the police are up in arms about this - when they are pulling speeding motorists, they now place themselves, the person they are stopping, and other road users at increased risk. Some f%&#wit at a council obviously thought this was a good idea. Poor driving standards (which aren't addressed in any way whatsoever) remain the biggest issue on NZ roads. That's too hard though, so let's go after people who are speeding instead.

Ok, last couple of weeks have been centred around the head unit upgrade and I put a E46 steering wheel on. Might alter this in the future but for now I like the feel of this wheel. Purchased a Avin Avant 3 unit from the US, arrived super quick. Spec’d it out with reversing camera, Apple CarPlay, Maps on SD card. Comes also with Ibus connection, Steering Wheels Canbus connection, SIM card port and its on web phone connection, USB ports X 2, SD card slot running on Android 6. GPS and it’s on wifi hotspot. I went with this as I wanted the factory look connected to the Ibus for OBC inputs and utilising the DSP and factory setup, (with all its problems and age, but hey it’s ‘unique’) Have been running it the last week and finished the install today. OBC and coding is very cool ?. Being able to cycle speed into the IKE display is great, it’s also the GPS adjusted speed identical to the speed on my radar detector. Having all OBC controls and monitoring I also like, it’s easy to use as well. Coded the indicators to flash 3 times like a real modern car as well. Big step forward, lots of other built in coding as well you can use, welcome home lights, setup DRLs etc. Android 6 platform seems very stable and has been working great, mainly running music through Apple Carplay and display on OBC then Google maps, using the live web connection for traffic updates and advisement, been excellant so far. Response and speed of operation has been very good. Had a couple of times where the unit seemingly has booted up twice after initial start up but no other operational issues. Takes a while to install running harness to the boot and the camera into the boot lid, overall it’s very durable and the quality looks good at an install point. Having the unit even seems to have brought the DSP amp back to life, we’ll see how long it lasts, might need replacing or at least a good inspection by a techie, above my pay grade. So suitably happy to bring the old girl up to the latest standards and the results so far. Next on the list is the bumper and bonnet replacements. Replacing the ribbon that gives the PIXEL issue in the main display as well, see what the weather comes up with tomorrow.

Botany Motor Worx Ltd will cease trading as an Automotive Specialist repairer as of 12.05 pm tomorrow. It's been fun and there have been special moments which I've enjoyed sharing. But the time has come to enter a different time as the journey continues. I'll be around at the workshop over the next few weeks and may have a few bargains for the special people. Just give me a call first.

Prime candidates for seem to be SUVs, and from my sample while driving: everyone who drives a new ford ranger Judging from the sample set "whos crashed into me and neighbours fence in the last 12 months" 1x Suzuki Swift, 1x Mitzi Canter Truck, 1x Vt Holden, 2x Honda Odyssey, 1x Honda Accord.... After the first few crashes, AT put in a new 50kmh sign. The Suzuki actually crashed into it, and it did slow the car down before it hit the fence, so good job there.

VRSF does seem great quality for the price. If i recall correctly, my dowpipes (2 of as N54) I had shipped free domestically to NZ Post's depot over there then used their youshop service to get them home for maybe $50 or so. Same with the charge pipe only cheaper. VRSF is great to deal with and will accommodate GST considerations, if you get my drift...

I’ll have your answers bro! I am full VRSF. My parts are all VRSF and I bought them from either directly from them or top gear solutions. If you have anything to ask pm me. ??

Not a dumb question at all. Long story short there is not a huge difference between an msport and Clubsport. The most obvious is the cosmetic differences which are Clubsport rear spoiler (mine actually has the msport bootlid as standard), front bumper splitters (also does not have), different shape of side skirts, Clubsport logo on the door kick panels, removed sound deadening on the bonnet for better sound and weight reduction, options for better/different paint colours (usually estoril blue or velvet blue, mine is carbon black which is the e46 m3 colour over standard cosmos black) and also the 3D cube interior trim. Mine also has a tyre pressure monitor, automatic headlights, facelift led taillights and longer bootlid trim on the boot handle as opposed to standard taillights and shorter bootlid handle trim. All in all very minor differences oh and also they came with Clubsport specific wheels which were either the style 135 or another dished type can't remember the code. It's just a msport with fancy pants basically. It's just 5% more special than the run of the mill msport but nothign world changing.

Hey man, I'm keen, can pick up the same time as the rest of the stuff if that suits you? May end up having to buy a shipping container to put all this stuff in if it keeps going hahaha. Flick me a message if you're all good with that and I'll send the $$$ your way.

Shamelessly copied from Sniff Petrol (18th April 2018) Modified Munich missile sure to herald helmsmith hard-on BMW has announced details of its new M2 Competition which the company says has been “fully optimised” for its target audience, which is car journalists who will never buy one. “Every detail of this car has been fully considered,” explained head of M Division, Headov M. Divizhun. “Starting with the way the car looks in a massive line-up of the same model in the same colour at a launch venue on a race circuit in Spain when you’ve just flown in to a nearby airfield aboard a private jet.” “Our stylists also considered every detail such as the new front intakes, the blacked-in grille trim and the new door mirrors,” Divizhun continued. “And specifically how they would look in photographs when the car is on full opposite lock on a rented race track and used as the opening image in a first drive story.” Naturally, the new M2 Competition is more than just a styling exercise and boasts an uprated, 404 horsepower version of the twin-turbo straight six, shared with the M3 and M4, and sure to appeal to people who will spend 36 hours dicking around with it on a circuit someone else has paid for because they could never afford it, or the car. “Thanks to new spring and damper settings and recalibrated stability control the car is now capable of more extreme drift angles and other things that would get a normal person thrown off a track day,” Divizhun explained. “Unless of course you are a journalist on, for example, a race track that has been hired by, for sake of argument, BMW for, let’s say, the launch of the new BMW M2 Competition.” “This car with developed with a complete focus,” Divizhun concluded. “And that focus was on people who will write rave reviews about based on its ability to oversteer wildly and make them look heroic in photos without bothering to think about boring stuff like ride quality or running costs.” The M2 Competition will be available in the summer for car journalists to rag about for two days with a massive bonk on and then not buy one.

And I disconnected the exhaust silencer flap and bunged the vacuum hose. That's probably 10 rwhp for sure.
