Sounds like you didn't get the greatest example but 1k for manual its a good price regardless, id be wanting to drop a 3.5L in it if i was keeping it long term. E34's are pretty robust, cheap and easy to fix so im sure you will have it sorted in no time esp with a parts car.

Cooling system needs sorting... Clean out radiator and replace water pump. Replace radius arm bushes. Get the rest of the fluids changed... Remove the cylinder head from the E32 and vacuum test it, resurface it and clean it then swap heads. Might steal the rotors and calipers off the 740... Find some stiffer front springs... Hmmm... Oh yeah, swap out the rusty sunroof... Find some interior rear quarter panels and replace those. Find a better set of bumpers... And maybe a bootlid... Paint it. We'll see, it mostly comes down to money, of which I only periodically have any...

To have cream on the top, you have to have a lot of milk underneath it. The cream would be... Aston Martin (any of them, from any era.) Jaguar old ones and new ones, not the ones in the middle TVRs - for fun and scaring you half to death Lotus' TR2,3,4,4A,5,250 and 6 Austin Healeys Ok, so most of them are no more and those that are left have non-British owners, but you get my point. It's all about horses for courses really, if we all liked the same thing, life would be ever-so boring.

Well, it is one way of trying to hide the fact that you are driving a hideous banana shaped car...

I'd have to argue that the English made more desirable cars in the past than the competition at any one time, because they had SO MANY MARQUES. Lo and behold the desirable marques have stayed on. (also i am a sucker for punishments and missed opportunities, like the SD1, Healey, and MGB V8)

I never said i supported it and would never do it myself for reasons you listed but some people are going cover up potentially unsafe aspects in cars regardless, rust comes to mind. Would of thought replacing factory seats in a track car etc is legitimate use for one. Sure its wrong but its just another drop is ocean of things wrong with the world.
