Hi, Up for sale is my M3, would prefer it to go to an enthusiast off these forums if possible. Few key points: - full BMW service history - inspection II done in November -22500 until next service (oil) - vanos bolts, seals and oil pump disc done as preventative during the above - 164kms - great overall condition - no issues with boot floor or sub frame - new unfitted front tyres included - $23200 Full details here: http://www.trademe.co.nz/708344686 '> http://www.trademe.co.nz/708344686 - picture and detailing courtesy of creepdontsleep Please let me know if you have any questions. That was us. Yeah mate it was crazy loud. The integra is noisey as hell but we had no problem hearing yours over it. I was well impressed.

I pulled up behind you on Saturday afternoon on Onewa road onramp in a friend's car. I recognized your massive resonator straight away and told the lads about your v8 swap. We were not dissapointed when you launched it through first and second haha. You have got that thing sounding lethal!

Hi Are you having fun not I bet Glen has hit the nail with these engines a real pain in the rear. Would take a look at the vacuum pump on the rear of the motor as these fill with oil and it gets sucked through out the whole system and can course some real trouble.

but only in manual. had a 318iS auto at one point, would have stuggled pulling skim off milk, my little 316i manual was quicker

Regarding valve stems - would they show up on a compression test? No and they are not DIY on a valvetronic engine

I would replace all the breather hoses associated with the CCV valve while it's all exposed- they crack. I would also replace the crankshaft position sensor (by the starter) while your in there- these also regularly fail. Use new manifold gaskets. The oil on the oil pressure switch is probably coming from a leak around the oil filter / cooler housing. Camshaft sensors and vanos seals leak in the front of the motor. Rocker covers leak, brake vacuum pumps leak, sump gaskets leak, water pumps leak, power steering pumps leak, radiators, thermostats, expansion tanks, hoses...... you should all know the lists now, nothing changes. N42 & N46 motors (and most of the valvetronic motors) also give issues with valve stem seals. The same result with idling and then accelerating, resulting in the smoke and excessively high oil consumption, made worse by the leaks on the drive and garage floor. These motors are one of the most problematic I have ever had the unfortunate opportunity to work on and empty wallets quicker than a pig at a trough.

It's a combination of things really. For the first time in 8 years I am finally down to one car, and loving it, the hassles and time of owning a crappy daily (plus WOFs, Reg, Insurnace) are in the past for me, and I love nothing more than having one reliable and drivable car to use day-to-day. Not to mention the driveway space is running low and its like a game of Tetris some mornings, with two cars this would suck even more. I'm super glad to have owned this car, even if it has only been for 6 months. New client in Waiuku isn't the steel mill thankfully!! A cheeky pay rise at work a couple months ago has helped too, so will be upgrading to a newer and lower km car, probably this week if all goes well. Because of this, will be willing to take $29,000 this week (for bimmersport members). Since buying the car I have had a new set of tyres go on the car, as well as a service at Team Mcmillian which is happening this week prior to sale. Basically am looking to break even, still an incredible price for such an epic machine.
