Okay, so I started creating this thread over on CSL register by looking into ETK on what's available ... I thought i'd condense the findings a bit and leave this as an official thread on products available and paint codes ect .. some helpful information for those that want to restore their cars. I've just copy and pasted what I wrote in the other thread, so some of the comments might read a little odd .. but I can't be bothered editing it haha!! First up .. the elusive Titanium Shadow trim colour ... Interesting stuff from the ETK system Glue for the interior felt trims and rubbers

It won Best BMW at Automania (and there were some sick ass E46s, E30's etc etc) I don't think the guy would appreciate you slagging off his car ae? Seen it in person and thought it was sweet - E30's are what, like 100 years old now? What do you expect. Remind me to NEVER sell my car to BS member, if this is the attitude you guys have towards individual rides. Car sold anyway... So someone must of loved it enough to see past the old car gremlins.

Selling 1994 BMW M3 NZ NEW, Manual. Avus Blue Black leather - Vados seats 204km I had absolutely no intention of selling but plans have taken a 180 turn and am forced to accept that I need a more realistic car for work, tied with purchasing a house and you get the picture! Original and immaculate! Absolutely no leaks and uses no oil! Very tidy engine bay $16k BM workshop know the car and rated it when I was looking. New Radiator Aircon system replaced Vanos replaced Headlining repaired early 2014 ($600) Original head unit (10 cd stacker) Rechargeable flash light, unused first aid kit, all tools! Bushes immaculate Replaced gear box linkages (gearbox is tight) New diff oil late 2013 (5km ago) Replaced perished hoses Fitted genuine X brace to firm up suspension Brakes replaced last year ($1500) Suspension is exceptionally smooth! Purchased from Jerry Clayton in Dec 1994 and has been well maintained with proof of full service history! Original books and receipts with car. Car feels exceptionally tight to drive. Only thing wrong, alternator is whining slightly at idle and will need to be replaced at some stage, although BM Grey Lynn said not to worry until it needs doing. Not that it matters what I think. But I absolutely love this car, however I have to make the move. Give me a call - 021 620 633

Some of you may be aware, the Rally of Wairarapa is on on 28th of this Month. I need two guys that will be willing to donate some time that weekend, and get free accommodation, watching the Rally, plus all the other perks of being involved with running an event like this!!! What is Taping? The Rally is on back roads, mostly gravel, and are all closed roads for the day. However farmers tend to forget or otherwise, and have in the past let stock out onto the tracks etc. we are the guys that will be out 4 or 5 hours before any rally cars come through, taping up any fences and styes etc to avoid this. We usually are done by 10-11am, and get to see everything from stage 3 or so onwards, from vantage points etc wherever you like. May be opportunities to go in Rally cars like 0 or 00 etc??? I have done it every year for the past 5 or so years, except last year when it coincided with another plan. Accommodation is paid for for both Friday and Saturday nigh etc, only cost is food, which if i remember right was provided in the end anyways. Let me know if keen!

Got the new rocker cover gasket, thermostat and one of the power steering hoses installed by Glenn today (Botany Motorworx). No more of those leaks now . Will need to do transmission service soon - apparently the oil is quite dirty.

Pulling the starter motor out must have freed off what ever was stuck. Once it was out I hooked the connections up to the battery using jump leads and she was popping in and out like a good-'un. Stuck it back in and tried turning over and it was all good. Pipes and AFM back on and time to try firing up again.. Turning over great - but oil pressure light not going out, so didn't want to put the plugs in a try to run it without being 100% sure the oil had come through. Double checked my wiring diagrams and pin connections and was 99% the dash oil pressure warning is connected up to the engine correctly. Tried turning over the engine again, and just left it spinning for slightly longer and da-dah! the light went out - phew relief. Next step (don't want to rush this and screw the motor) plugs in and turn over again - got compression as the turn over is slower and there are pulses of air coming out of the exhaust manifold, you can tell this when there are only headers on and no centre section! No leaks, or funny noises spotted so far. Time for the big moment, connect up the plugs and turn the key.. And, nothing! Bugger. Time to check spark and fuel, my first guess is fuel as I can't hear the fuel pump priming or the relay buzzing - will have a poke around the relays with the old volt meter and see what is happening.

The M4 just squeaks under the 1500kg (depending on options), but only in manual form, M3 is just a little over and the DCT adds 40kg. Lots of engineering effort went into reducing the weight, including the CFRP driveshaft which you won't even get to see. Most of the reports are highlighting the extra pull from low revs of the new turbo engine over the out-going n/a V8. I'm looking forward to doing the comparison!

Bigger displacement, better engine management, motor weighs less, more torque and power. It's the exact same as swapping an m50, the only extra is getting around EWS but if you get all the bits from the same car it isn't an issue. Or you can get the DME flashed and EWS removed which is what I did since I couldn't get the EWS box etc.

I did the fan delete mod, just google it, it's been done many times before. My M52 328i ran sweet as, no problems for 2 years before I sold it. I think it was a new lower thermostat and temperature switch, viscous and fan off and done.

Yeah I was always drawn to the singular round headlights and the "squareness" of the BMW body shape, lost after the e34, maybe the e38 is borderline-ish. I waited and waited till the right one came up for me to pounce on. I practically stole it at $2500, but right now these e34's are the time to buy. Right on the cusp of all being trashed and disappearing from the roads as they get older and handed on, passed in. There's still some gems around if you've $3K-ish in your pocket for one. It's a hell of a lot of car for the same cost as a Toyota Corolla.

Haven't updated this in a while. Car is currently at ~112000km. Just got in a few parts: - 6 new spark plugs - new thermostat - to replace my current one, which has been very slowly leaking coolant through the sensor area - new rocker cover gasket - to fix oil leak that's been there forever Installed the plugs last night. Could be placebo but driving feels a bit smoother - torque/power feels more consistent. Have also recently changed the front right tie rod for WOF (the plastic boot was not tied down properly, so water got in and rusted the rack end, causing play in the wheel). Going to get the thermostat and gasket in next week somewhere. Too busy to be without a car even for a day atm though, so will see if timing suits. Next on the list: - Re-spray rear bumper. Ever since someone did hit n run at the car park, haven't had the chance to fix the scratches left behind. Will do this very soon. - Have talked to Jason at Woolf mufflers about putting a mid resonator in my exhaust system to reduce the droning inside the car but produce a deeper note outside, something I would not mind at all. - Vanos seals (Ray does these right?) - minor oil leak coming from the Vanos area - Transmission service - replace filter and gasket (and oil?) - Fix some creaking sound that sometimes appears when adjusting steering wheel height up and down. Online forums point to a specific nut under/behind the steering wheel that causes this. Looks like a simple fix. - Audio upgrade - Considering upgrading the front speakers. Some stuff to do .
