The project begins. I am new to BMWs so this is also a learning exercise for me but the idea is always to do it once and do it right. 1993 E30 Touring photos to come soon. the car appears to have had a hard life, but the good news is no rust and someone has done the conversion from a 1.6l to the 2.5 with matching gearbox. The Goal is to create a very clean resto and appropriately modified car the pant and interior are a mess but that will come later, for now its service time and focusing on getting it driving nice. my experience with the car so far has been driving around auckland for a few days then the trip home to New Plymouth. issues that need addressing so far. rubbish exhaust sound, drones under 110kmh, sounds good at high rpm however. no sway bars at all? is that normal? car is nice and low but handles terribly. rear diff noisey, i would like a LSD If anyone has good information and contacts for these please let me know. also will be wanting a leather interior for it.

One of these would be ideal http://www.ebay.com/itm/1990-Mercedes-Benz-500-Series-560SEC-/271808129377?nma=true&si=sDW8Eb09VDNIfjVO6hU%252BPA4MrvI%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

Omg hahaha, just what I needed to read at 12:30am. I love the "I'll take you for a ride and youll feel it for yaself", Yeah.. to most ex-Integra folks, it would probably feel like 450hp. Didn't you guys know, a pod filter is worth an extra 50-300hp on its own? Especially if it's mounted right above the headers for that cold air induction like most typical NZ'ers do. Are any of you members of "Dirty South Car Club" on Facebook? This is the sort of mentality that goes on there daily. I had to stop browsing so often as the ignorance, naivety and general arrogance masquerading as knowledge of cars was almost giving me an aneurysm.

Agreed, priceless and scarily naïve. Who are we to argue? He has his specs.

Sway bars are definitely factory standard. Good on you for saving the car from becoming re-bar.

Name a motoring/entertainment show you would rather watch.

Megatard. BMW does make a 420hp 4.0 V8 (E90/E92 M3) Turns out VW now make a 210 HP Beetle, so that's what my '72 Beetle has got, right?

Only reason people didn't like the Peugeot segment was because nobody likes Peugeots. There is a difference between past its prime, needing a refresh and dieing with everyone that made it what it was walking away. You lot obviously haven't seen old Top Gear with Tiff. Dry as weetbix. A public apology and compensation for the man who was slapped would have been enough. But the PC pandering society got behind it.

    Saw that... Excellent cricket banter.

Oh, I'm more into single mums, and replace the Lamborghini Aventadores with the two Mitsubishi FTO's I managed to start a race with on the Southern past Manurewa whilst listening to classic hits on my oem stereo .. oh and I only spend $70 on dinner and I don't have a swimming pool. Apart from that, its much the same as that video. Have taken a chick on a date in my race car once, nailed a duck on the drive, smashed my bumper, got airborne a few times and she didn't vomit...must have made an impression as she tolerated me for about a month before she had a mental break down. True story. haha. Better living everyone.

As much as I love TG it needs a refresh. Last nights segment on Peugeot was pointless and boring. The hosts at times are tittering school boys entertaining only themselves making the show quite hit and miss. On that bomb shell for me Clarkson, goodnight...

But Jay would just stand around and talk about the cars rear louvers and double pump choke for half the show. Needs to be an Englishman. Harry Metcalfe could do it, as could a few of the people from EVO, its about the only trustworthy publication out there. I say let it die. The current format is almost dead anyway, I have not watched an actual TV for well over a year, don't even have an arial.

cripted, staged, etc... that Patagonian special showed the extent of the support they have on the "specials". The gags were all a bit cringe worthy, horn inside the car, etc, etc.. The show itself is still a lot of fun though. Agree with driftit, get Chris Harris in there to shake it up, but for that to work you would have to get rid of James and Richard, no huge loss IMHO, neither do a lot for me in terms automotive journalism and both are really just side kicks. So, who would be the side kicks? Un knowns? Rebeca could be good... gjm, on 25 Mar 2015 - 4:02 PM, said: I ask the question. If a Co-Worker punched you, would you press charges, or be a man and punch him back, walk away, let management/HR sort it... theoretically Clarkson in this case is the boss. I don't know. Maybe its just a sign of the times and how PC everything is.. I just feel this would not have been a big deal as little as 10 years ago... but as Michale says, it could well have happened multiple times already. And on that bombshell. There is only one person to replace him. Me. But I am already the Stig so things could get tricky.
