My wish of GT3 taking over the world saloon car scene is becoming a reality. Nice to see the richards family involved in this. enjoy

Ask ripjaws what he would want to buy one for, then multiply his figure by 6000%, that would be a more realistic/fair asking price...

ok. So I got some bigger feet. I managed to buy relatively cheaply (oh yeah this whole shebang is being done on the cheap..well as cheap as). They are old racing tyres, but that's ok, as I only want them for fitting purposes so that I can reform the lips/guards around them. Yes they are flippin enormous, and I wouldn't do any body work if I just wanted ay 275's up there, so went the whole hog and ended up with the other problem of fitment. If you got to this page you would know that the 275/40-17's cant really fit in the back, they hit on compression and I have notched the rear trailing arms, so there is going to be guard work for sure. It's a double skin back there, so no baseball bat job is going to cut it, even hammering it doesn't get you what you want...yes I have tried. SO I thought if I am going to flare the guards I may as well get the right feet on there for an 11" rim and its 315/35-17, if you're American, probably not if you're...not. I think the flared S5 Silhouette used 245/40's on the 11" rears but that's too small an o.d. I always thought E34 wheels were are bit on the tiny side myself. So I got them mounted this morning, here's some pics. I will probably try (that's a BIG TRY) to fit the 275/40's in the front. Here it is next to the puny 225/50-16 on 16x7's, not that these are going to the front. You can also see my recessed headlights, which is a work in progress. I love the twin headlights, and any BMW with twins is usually awesome. I also like the old 70's recessed headlight look, so I have done a bit of work...ok lots of work butchering it up, but I hope it looks nice in the end. This is just a closer shot. These are the monstrous pair next to my Navara. The Navara could do with a bit more grip, that thing slides everywhere. Slow progress...but progress nevertheless. OH...I found the ecu and the chipped B30 chip too.

Hey guys, I've lucked out and scored a (mostly) original 1987 525e 5spd from right here in Hawke's Bay. Super stoked! Have already found a really nice set of RC090's 17's with rubber (235/45-17) who are getting a tidy up as we speak, and have sourced some spigot rings from TM to ensure no speed "wobbles" Will be turning my attentions to the brakes/suspension next, and very much open to any suggestions any fellow e28'ers are running with good results out there. Wheels, brakes and suspension aside, I've no plans to modify the motor any more than that. Have heard of a chip upgrade which can help deliver a few extra ponies which is a pretty compelling proposition, but keen to get the handling piece sorted first then look at that sort of thing down the line, Cheers!

Your username is almost more appropriate for the tyre size rather than model

Hey guys, I've recently purchased a 2001 530i M Sport and I'm excited to experience BMW ownership for the first time. I'm only 18 but I have an absolute passion for cars and the e39 has always appealed to me! The car is black with 17" M rims, M body kit, M steering wheel, dual tip muffler, black kidney grilles and tints on the front & rear lights (the photo was taken with the sun shining on the car so the rear lights are darker in real life). I plan on eventually plasti dipping the rims as they're slightly damaged in places and was wondering if anyone has experience with plasti dipping? Is it as easy and effective as advertised? I'll either go with silver to retain the stock look, or grey/black. Cheers! (I'm in East Auckland btw)

Also LOL, i see you have listed your other one too. Cant imagine there has ever been another time in the history of TM that a single user has had two E39 M5s forsale at the same time. Both look amazing, very jealous. Good luck with sale.

When I was hit I figured it would be a write off or at least close to it. And I had just put 4 new tyres on them. So I found some awful commodore alloys for it with warrantable tyres. For a quarter the price of my new tyres. And swapped them over before the assessor took the photos. Sent from my GT-I9506 using Tapatalk

Hi I was a member back in the early 2000s to around 2006 when I sold my old Avus blue 95 M3 to a guy on the Nth Shore. Well around 2 yrs ago I knew I needed to purchase another M3 (e36 / e46), so finally 2 weeks ago after being told an E46 M3 on autotrader was sold that day an E36 appeared on the site, no mucking around and a pre purchase at Dunedin BMW that was ok but not enough to scare me off as some in the past, I brought another E36 M3. This time a 93 , same colour and about the same kms I sold my last one at 10yrs ago The Car 1. 1993 Avus Blue 3.0l, 154000kms 2. Service history with BMW to 83000kms, from 83k until now Midas 3. Full Milltek exhaust system - original was in the back of the car, with some ceramic pads and new front lights So arrived Thurday last week and in the shop Monday for a few bits and pieces 1. New front rotors and pads 2. New rear shock mounts and bump stops 3. A/C Re-gas 4. Wheel refurb 5. New rear brake pads - had a horrible rattle rear left like I was towing a trailer and only happened on the chip seal roads, turned out it was missing clips on the rear pads To do 1. Water pump - anyone know where I can get a water pump that wont set me back $725?, no mention of this on pre purchase, just mention that there was some dry water marks 2. Leather resto 3. Re fix door cards 4. Apparently some play in steering rack 5. Rear main seal might be leaking - also wasn't mentioned on pre purchase, this one kind of annoys me , don't know how this was missed Paul

Howdy guys and girls. 6 years of enduring public transport, I've finally bought a replacement car. Always admired the brand and it's so good to finally be an owner. Incredible car, damn good on gas considering the engine size and the distance I travel every day. Currently costing my $50 p/w as opposed to $80 taking the bus from Wattle Downs to Parnell every day. I am light footed and coast where I can, so maybe my nananess is helping. Hoping to attend meet ups and make some new mates. Don't know a lot about the workings of cars so I'll be relying heavily on your advice. Not sure what I want to do with the car as of yet. I haven't really got any spare cash to spend although I have been eyeing up Plasti Dip to colour (as a cheap alternative to powder coating) my wheels and grill in black. Love the wheels, so not really interested in replacing right now. We'll see I guess. Any horror stories with Plasti Dip?
