Must have seen the price of M3 E30s and considered his car to be priced based on their skyrocketing values. OR He's just keeping the wife happy showing it's for sale

Most of the stuff on that car can be got on fleabay for not much, maybe if I did the same I'll get 25k. Wow, an instant million per cent profit. The point being. If you love your car and making it something it's not. Then cool. It will look cool and you will get a buzz out of making it that way and showing your creation to people. But don't try and sell it as a genuine thing that it's not. But then again maybe he really believes it's worth that much.. Today I spotted a fully tech2'd white coupe. Looked like the real deal m325i took a closer look at rego label. Oops 316i....looked good though.

Ok, after much deliberation on what to replace an E38 with. I've gone with the S8 Audi. Keeping the Silver E38, can't part with that. I looked at a few E65s and after throwing up in my mouth consistently, I decided I needed to look elsewhere. E60 550, been there. Options on large sedans with autos and pace with style are quite limited and this baby ticks all the boxes. It's a NZ New, 1 owner with full Audi service history, 140ks. love the look and the options boxes are well ticked. V10 5.2l 450hp, B&O upgrade audio, keyless entry. All the full A8 options. Drove back from Auckland, got 11.6l/100ks which was better then I thought. Included some spirited Action from the V10, sounds quiet glorious through the hills. will keep a running record of maintenance and ownership here

So my recent acquisition came with a fairly grubby alcantara steering wheel. I was originally thinking about just selling it, but knowing that I have successfully cleaned quite a few of these I decided to give this one a go again. Not the worst one I have come across. condition before clean - this corner was the clean side lol! decided to do the top half first to show the difference post cleaning first stage contrast top (cleaned) and bottom (original state)

Cheers for all the replies. Unfortunately, I found another compact car that might dethrone the 130i from my list. Yep, a Mini Cooper S. It's a 2013 with N18 engine and done 22000kms which is suppose to be more reliable than earlier ones.

Haha, well I'm happy if E30 convertible resales stay high, might make me feel slightly better about the amount of cash I plough into mine.

That 323 is very nice and the work gone into it is fantastic. Our Auckland monthly meet is open to all cars as long as you're a BMW enthusiast. We even let Michael continue to bring his Toymotor.

20-30K? You could probably get a 325i LCI (2008+) for that money, though most are fitted with iDrive (the newer CIC version with a better interface and maps)... I wouldn't be concerned about iDrive, it's not particularly prone to having issues (we have 3 vehicles in the family with it, without issue, likewise a few friends too - though I'm not at a service centre to see what vehicles are coming back for), especially the HDD CIC based ones and the maps are still being updated, unlike older CCC based versions. If you really don't want it you should be able to find a pre-LCI 325i without it quite easily. The 330i and 335i almost always have it fitted as you've noted. Just get a mechanical warranty for the first 3 years and anything particularly ugly should rear it's head (at the very least it will repay most of itself when the electric water pump dies at 80-100ks)

Well I doubt it could be insured for that. I wonder what my FL 325iC would go for then... 30K? lol. I can't see anything Mtech on it apart from the gear shift gator and steering wheel, also doesn't look particularly well spec'd (No OBC, or A/C(?)). Nonetheless it looks very tidy, manual and the AC Schnitzer wheels might be worth something if they're not replicas. Maybe 10K for the right buyer.

Saw a good 325i manual vert for sale recently - $8k. Even allowing for remedial work, that's probably a good price. $25k? Same category as so many of the $10k+ 4-door and coupes. There are some really good examples out there, but there is some real rubbish masquerading as 'an investment', too.

Hi guys! Got her earlier this year around June here's the before and after pic

Battery died and was shot $400 running at 12.5 to 13 l/ 100ks so far on a few tanks. Pretty damn happy with that, mix of highway/ urban Good clay bar and wax has brought the Magic out in the finish as well

What ever you go for get a mechanical warranty. You may have to do the electrical water pump and thermostat at 80-120k which will come to the same price as a warranty plus it gives you pice of mind motoring

To celebrate getting her back on the road I added 15hp. Well, at least that's how I translated the Taiwanese auction description!
