I called *555 late one night, as on the way home, a boy racer in a legnum VR4 nearly collected my family and I only 100M from our house! I was only doing about 50K (country back road), I suggested to the cops he was well over 120 on a curvy part of the road. After I pulled left into the gravel, and he very nearly took out my wing mirror, easily 1m over the centreline, I saw him fishtailing down the road, before regaining control. I had hoped he'd plummet down the 50M bank on his side I called *555 as soon as I got home. I had NO idea of the rego number, just the car, and colour - it HAD to be a VR4 version, as a non turbo could never achieve that speed there. 2 hours later, I was awoken by a call from a cop in a suburb 25 minutes away. They'd pulled the guy over, asked him why he was travelling in a reckless manner on our road (calling his bluff - I didn't have the rego), and he admitted it was him. The cop asked if I wanted to pursue charges or or if he should just be fined, and given a letter of warning. I went with the latter, as it's probably more effective for the young guy, and I hope he thinks twice next time. We've all done something silly, and he was honest about it. I have dash cams now - not so much help at night, but it does show what happens. A good one will show regos from daylight footage.

Normally use a combination of Pelican Parts and Milland depending on price. Both a great in my experience.

Hi Guys, Thought I would introduce myself - My name is Sam, i have a long history of Japanese cars but always wanted an E34, so when I spied a 1993 525 manual touring on Trademe I had to snap it up. A test drive and some haggling and it was mine - in all its rough but functional glory! (photos to come) Will be getting it back to an acceptable standard, starting with giving her a service birthday this weekend. Hope to get involved with the community and get to some meets. Cheers

Hi all I have been apart of Bimmersport for a while but never used my account and never introduced myself. A few of you may have seen my car around the car scene in Hamilton some time ago, but recently have been caught up in work and study. I drive a 1998 BMW E36 323i/4/5 Motorsport, Factory 5-Speed, built in South Africa, this one has BMW Individual paint (Aegean Metallic Blue) with black and grey interior on dove grey leather. The desirable non-sunroof seems to always become a point of conversation for some reason? She currently sits on Beyern Spartan (18x8.5f, 18x9.5r) rims and a very light tint. Some factory options were the rear mechanical sun visor, heated wing mirrors, style 32 (17x7.5) from factory, and a detachable hidden towbar piece. I purschased the car around two and a half years ago at 170,000km, and have recently booked her in for the 230,000km service. I've managed to add a few things here and there, strut bars, springs, struts, shocks, rims, ZHP styled gear knob, K&N slip-in fliter. All in all it's been a wonderful and sometimes stressful two and a half years but there are many more things I'd like to do to the car over the next eternity. I'm looking forward to making conversation in the forums!

I have used FCPEuro a number of times and found them to be very fast and well priced- shipped to NZ in under 4 days- then wait another 4 days for NZ Post to sort their 5h1t out and get it to my door. @gjm- they also do Merc parts, which may make them worth checking out for you.

If you haven't already ordered, have a look at fcpeuro.com pricing... their shipping is cheaper than Pelican Parts and if you use their UPS option (which I think is the cheapest anyway) UPS NZ rings you when the package arrives and you can pay GST over the phone with a credit card... Avoids the above issues with NZ Post which is appallingly slow.

Honestly they are f**king hopeless. i usually ring them once the tracking shows its waiting for customs clearance. I dont mind paying the gst, but having to wait an extra two weeks is unacceptable

I thought that was just for Audi drivers now. Edit: Haha just noticed you also have an Audi.

Evening Bimmersport, I'm posting here given these wheels are BMW specific (or Holden if that takes your fancy). Last night my set of APEX Arc 8 wheels with Nitto NT-01 tyres were stolen from my garage in Parnell. If anyone sees or hears about a set of these come available can you please PM me or call on 0210709077. These wheels are relatively rare in New Zealand so I would be greatly appreciative if the forum could help keep an eye out. Will offer a cash reward to anyone who is able to find these.
