What? Me? No idea what any of you are talking about It has a few extra bits of "character"- a free bluetooth OBD2 diagnostic device, forgotten by someone and left plugged into the port. Was very useful in diagnosing the rather alarming missfire it developed on the way home, the cam position sensor was drenched in oil, and also has an intermittent fault (it's buggered). The oil smoke haze from the rocker gasket can be pretty scary also when you pull up to a stop. The blower only blows hot, the A/C has a noisy pulley or unit, and a heater pipe under the intake mani looks so scary the car will remain off the road until it's replacement arrives. Normal for an E39, then Thanks all, it will all take a while- baby v2.0 is due in 3 weeks

Started the M52 for the first time today in its new home in my alpine white coupe. Lots more still to do but it's a good milestone to achieve! Might do a thread some day

When you move your shifter to the left into manual mode that puts it in sport mode. It should say DS in your dash display, and it'll be sport auto. That makes it hold gears for longer (and keeps it out of 6th gear), quicker kick down and throttle response and seems to sharpen steering. If you're manually shifting it stays in sport mode but locked in whatever gear you pick. My E61 has active steering option so I'm not sure if that increases sport mode effect on steering.

Don't know if you all spotted the remote hanging from the key, it has an aftermarket immobiliser- there was an LED associated with this system in the hole, the PO's kid poked it and it has gone inter-dimensional, as Olaf speculated. To be honest, the setup is a bit of an ass. Still getting the hang of it's auto rearm function. A new cooling system, bunch of gaskets, oil filler cap, filters (cabin filters have an 05 date stamp!) couple of sensors etc on the way- you all know the drill

1/4 " drop and firmer than factory, comfortable but not harsh.. Recommend.

Performed said oil change. Swapped out the gear knob for one that doesn't fall off. Washed it, rain-x'd the windscreens, took it to the meet. Somehow managed to get it dirty in that time... I also think I may have developed an exhaust leak somewhere

i didnt like the E60 when they first came out but they have grown on me.At one time i was looking at them quite seriously but got the 120d manual instead.I need to find a way to have two cars i do too many ks per day to have my "nice car" as my DD.I would prefer a manual as my "nice" car but was impressed with the way the auto worked in the 545.At the moment a 550 touring appeals, but i change my mind every time a bmw drives past

Crashed my P10 T4 backwards into a tirewall at 80km/h at the old Taupo track. Crumpled left rear corner and shears lower arm bolt on left rear suspension - twisted roof. No glass broken. Laid the front seat backs flat (had a passenger). No injuries aside from a little whiplash and drove car back to the pits, ouit to the carpark and onto a trailer. Aint no concrete bridge but I was impressed with how it stod up.

polish and double wax job done, tyres done with blacking gel. Next time, black trim, glass, and then on to the interior.

I lifted my car and removed some of the stance nation camber from the front end so its a little more driveable and so I don't draw attention from the boys in blue while daily driving it. Cert guys in chch are both away until April so may have to take it to Temuka or Dunedin to get it done before then! The fitment in the front was nice while it was slammed out and had mad camber (Still had another 15mm lower to go on the struts too!)

For that money you can get a good condition E30 manual. go for one of those. Heaps more fun, if anything goes wrong much cheaper to fix, and so much cooler car. #E30FTW

Time to update the concept touring with a major repower. Out with the S54 and in goes a S65 with M-DCT. Time for Quest fabrication to do their magic, especially with headers to be fabricated from scratch. First photos show the S65 and DCT in place. So far we have custom made engine mounts, gearbox mount and steering shaft.
