And here it is team! One awesome piece of machinery dry sump system. Stage 4 pump and pan is so light - only 4cm deep! Just looks so shiny I'm like a kid in a candy store

I swapped out the front cup holder from my parts car today. Before... After... Also fixed my auto-dimming rear view mirror, which turned out to just be a missing fuse - I guess the previous owner must have nicked it for something else. I don't do too well driving at night these days, and not having the auto-dimming was really impacting me. I was planning to swap out the regular manual-dim mirror in the parts car but I don't have to now. Before... After... As a nice bonus I found this handy little pull-out fuse diagram blind in the parts car that I have now transferred. Job done!

I've been a lurker here for years and owned a fair few BMWs, but nothing really worth showing anyone. Just this week I swapped my E39 540i for this NZ new 328i manual in Boston green, in albeit tatty condition As you can see it is a bit of a project to tidy up. The drivers door card was held on with some cable ties due to the top plastic support shattering, the driver's seat has a small hole appearing in the outer bolsters and the gearknob and steering wheel leather is typically worn through Mechanically it is mostly sound. 90% of the supesension is replaced, new shocks and most of the nushes done with Nolothane (black) The clutch has been done recently also It needs new top hats in the front, so OEM M3 ones will be going in I plan to keep it kind of stock and tidy it up and do a few little track days for a giggle I have already repaired the door card well enough to stop it flapping around but am going to replace it because there are screw holes. I have removed both front seats and fixed a non operational front-back passenger motor Fixed a wiring fault on the driver's pre-tensioner Fixed a non working passenger window and put new clips in the door and re-glued the inner plastic reinforcements back on properly The first thing I will tackle in the near future under the hood is a full cooling system overhaul Later down the track I will be installing an SC14 with PWR water to air and a water meth kit, I have already got this all mounted on my spare m52, I did the mounts myself as it's easy enough, it works with either m50 or m52 manifolds, with the small frame size PWR cooler sitting under the manifold This post was too long, sorry chaps

No plans of ditching it yet! Its super handy! New pads were put in half way through todays trackday! 1:51.126 isnt too bad around Ruapuna, first time out with the car actually fully working. I just need a lot more seat time and maybe some adjustment to get rid of the oversteer. Peeling wheels out of corners on warm semis too in 3rd wasnt ideal either! I want an LSD but they are bloody hard to find without getting a mortgage.

New wheel cylinder in, no more leaky brake fluid! Hopefully the rear shoes aren't too far gone and grip enough still for less than 20% difference L/R! Now to trace the reverse light fault... (Reason for not doing a full rear brake service - car has a leak from the profile gasket so it's days are well and truly numbered anyway!)

Had a win today no more warning symbol yah, have been showing a low washer bottle light for some time. Have checked the float, wiring etc so had it scanned.dealer came back faulty sensor had that replaced light still on durr whats wrong.Time goes by have ordered some instrument rings and was interested to see what fitting them involved Took the cluster out to have a look see what was involved and by chance what did I find in one of the connectors bent pins. So with a small blade screw gentle prided them apart, thinking don't break don't break. Then using thin nose pliers straightened them out as best I could finally using a similar connector slid it over the pins a few times just to make sure they were in alignment.and good to go.Put it all back together and warning light has gone how the pins came to get bent I have no idea

New project underway! I'm having a diffuser setup for the underbody designed, starting at the rear. I pulled the bumper this morning - it was pretty dusty under there. I suppose 100km of gravel on the last rally had it's downsides...! I hope to have a mock up designed over the next couple of weeks, then manufacture & fitting before we start on the front. Good fun! Hey everyone Managed to get some time this afternoon to get some more cleaning done. A lot of elbow grease to get them pistons looking shiny. By the last piston i had managed to get it cleaned in 15mins compared to my 1st one which i think took 45mins. Gave the crank a light scrub and the end caps. Just have the main bearing caps left to do.

Looks like you may have the wrong model - the conversion should be in something like this: https://www.motormag.com.au/features/1706/meet-the-bmw-x5-lemans-v12 Only kidding - good luck with your build!

I wouldn't recommend using an adjustable crescent spanner for anything. But yes, get a proper (cheap) 32mm spanner and rubber mallet.
