SOLD As per the title, set of 4, 2x 18x8, 2x 18x8.5. In good condition. Some curb rash has recently been addressed, and one of the 8.5" wheels has a weld repair on the inside lip area which appears to be fine, no cracks. Some evidence of old brake dust in places. Located in Hamilton for pickup only or can arrange something local Bay/Auckland once we can move around... $250.

Hey everyone i am buying a 79 635csi from my work next week. What am i getting myself into?? The car has been in dry storage for 8 years i havent seen it run in this whole period but we have never tried to get it going. It has only ever been towed or pushed to different locations. I put the jump pack on it yesterday and it all powered up and did turn over but I didnt continue to try anymore from there. Now from what i have found out from my research it was produced in September 1978 which makes it one of 98 made that year and was in the first group of RHD manuals ever produced. It is originally from the UK. Was first registered here in 1990. From what i can tell it looks to have the M90 (will confirm, now that i know to look for the L on the block) I have looked in most spots for rust everything looks fine. But that is also without getting it on a hoist. Now my first goal is to get it running and to move it from where it is to give it a major water blast. How much work is going to be involved for me to get this running. I know ill need to dump the old fuel. Here are some photos of the car not the best as its in a dark corner in the back of the warehouse.

The recaro’s which even some early M635csi’s had has an option. In my opinion, gorgeous seats.

I'm not convinced baffles are enough on their own, it probably wouldn't be enough for me to be comfortable going all-out on the track in mine again. The M2 has a dual oil pump design. This thread is pretty good, he ended up adding an Accusump: https://bmw.spoolstreet.com/threads/addressing-n5x-oiling-and-spun-rod-bearings-accusump-installed.4034/ I'd want either a retrofit with something like the M2 system or an Accusump. But I think I'll wait until I can get an M4... Turning a non-M into a track car ends up costing you as much as buying the M version, and you're left with something that's worth far less from depreciation... With my luck you'll probably see a thread from me in a year after my new M4 engine seizes on the track.

I've been eyeing up a Magnaflow from Ebay for my E46 (dual 2.25" in and out) seem like good value and common enough that you can actually get plenty of sound clips on youtube of them...

Personally not sold on the body kit, but looks like nice apart from that. I suspect your steering wheel will be a different spline to anything post 1986, and being a 79 car it's mechanically an e12 rather than an e28. As a result the suspension is a little bit different. M90 makes it a little bit more special than a standard m30b34/35 as it's got a larger bore and shorter stroke, making it in theory more rev happy.

Waste of time and money just changing the oil Kyu. You should be changing the pan gasket and filter as well. Check for fault codes and clear any adaptions.

Stunning car, great score and story. I'm sure it will cause a few headaches but will be 100% worth it.

Hey, yeah I think I read one of your posts about it. If I can find a reasonable price for it then will get someone to do it but at $1k its definitely a DIY job. Have been watching quite a few videos on it. I'm not experienced mechanically but competent enought to do the work and learn. I've ordered a upgraded PCV valve and will be ordering an upgraded charge pipe and catch can from BMS (maybe DCI also) so may as well do everything at the same time. Car is stuttering a little under light acceleration but when I put my foot down it's pretty smooth. Figure could be a few things so doing some maintenance and see it improves (changing sparks also) - could be the HPFP or a number of other things.

Perfect cheers! Sorry I didn’t see this till now, don’t get on here often. Reckon I’ll go with the trade me guy rather than super cheap - I don’t trust myself with the bigger areas ?
