After 5.5 weeks wallowing around in a clapped out comfort seat and 3 weeks without a front sway bar, can’t wait for the weekend to get my rebuilt and reupholstered sport seats in and my 22mm sway bar with new poly bushings and billet mounts… Looking forward to driving around corners again.

This is way off topic and might be better in the videos section but I thought a few might enjoy this YouTube hidden gem. While exchanging some friendly banter with a buddy of mine who is currently in Le Mans imagining himself to be Steve McQueen, where I noted he was closer in looks, girth and charisma to a Pontiac Le Mans than a Le Mans Porsche, I stumbled across this on the internet: 1988 Pontiac LeMans | Retro Review - YouTube If you have a spare 7 minutes or so, the contradictions in this review are outstanding. NB: think this was sold in the UK as the Astra but in NZ (where I was a youngster at the time) it was most definitely, a Pontiac Le Mans. Racey Exotica. Pontiac LeMans commercial New Zealand [1989] - YouTube Speaking of Le Mans, this is also nice: On Board with Mike Hawthorn at Le Mans 1956 | D-type Jaguar - YouTube some great one liners.

224,xxx km All this talk of o2 sensors in @Vass thread reminded me that o2 sensors were on my list of things to do. If I had of been paying attention @Eagle had already done the hard work and found where to find these unusually hard to find part numbers and posted them in his thread. It's a little confusing as my headers are quite different to the diagram and the DIY tutorials all over the internet. First time ordering from Spareto and i'm thoroughly impressed. About a week to arrive from Estonia. I'm a little premature here and have only replaced bank 1 as bank 2 as you can see is a lot harder to access and will take a bit more time. Old and new bank 1 sensors. The originals are dated 01 so being an 02 build car I'm pretty sure these are original. E30 is departing the garage this afternoon for good so will hopefully get bank 2's new sensor in soon.

At almost half a metre in length it is massive, I could do so much with $329.99 - Buy a days worth of groceries, put gas in the M5, buy 1/3rd of a new office chair Or as I found out - let the other half buy some new shoes..... So I won't by buying that particular toy, but if it were an E61 M5 it would be a done deal.

What, like 10 years? So we should instead go back to being influence by the oil industry? Our energy production technologies isn't ready for widespread FCEV, it's just not energy efficient enough to produce clean hydrogen yet, so we still rely on the oil industry to produce the Gray/Blue hydrogen in vastly greater quantities than the Green hydrogen which would actually offer significant climate change benefits vs a petrol car. But hey, something to be said for slacktivism right! FCEV's currently cover both sides of the coin, they're able to be used with renewable energy created elsewhere like a BEV, or from non-renewable sources like dino-burners. The technology offers some benefits in range and 'recharge' time but efficiency is key in so many applications. Long term FCEVs will be a dead end the same way that Lithium Ion batteries will be, but both systems are stepping stones in the right direction, and we're seeing a lot of innovation that comes with exploration of newer technologies that can only benefit the industry/products/consumers overall. To be clear though, Elon needs to pull his head out of his arse, and drop the battery semi truck idea until techology catches up.

Thought I would get the ‘inner interior’ all nice before the re-upholstered interior goes back in next week. Shampoo’d the carpets, cabin and boot, repainted most interior plastics and put in some sound deadening (mix of butyl and foam I had in the basement) in the spare wheel well, boot, inner rear quarters / arches and doors while I was at it. Came up well, save a few little coffee stains on passenger side that are ordinarily covered by the seat anyway. Can’t wait to get the new seats, door cards and floor mats in!

I'm chuffed to bits with it. No reprieve for the family now 😅

Finally fixed it, and upgraded. VRSF Intercooler, Catless down-pipe, and charge pipe installed. Flashed to MHD 2+, it's definitely a quick wee car. Enough for me for now! Took it for a drive and met up with some other BMW people, one being this tidy 335i, looked pretty good together.
