I'm looking to buy a new amp/receiver, my 13yo 100% awesome Onkyo now goes into power protection mode 😢- I can land an 8k Denon replacement from Australia, that's with AU$260 shipping, for NZ$500 less than I can get one in NZ. There is absolutely no logic that can justify that, with or without GST shenanigans.

a bit off-topic my reply above is the 100,000 post btw would be curious to see BYD Atto3 in the flesh, especially the interior. It's a bit funky for our taste, but I guess maybe it would different on the flesh. The $50k after the rebate is very good value... maybe. You can buy 2 Atto3 and have change for the price of 1 i4

More NZ price gouging Our Makita sander uses a rubber backing disc with 'hooks' that hold the sanding disc. After a lot of use, the hooks aren't holding the disc as well as they did and the paper discs have developed a habit of flying off in any direcction that takes their fanc. Being a Makita, you can buy spares. Yay! Part number 197468-0. In NZ, $42 - $50. In Oz, $20. What possible reasonable reason can there be for something so simple costing twice as much here?

Decided to keep busy while I wait until KBM has time to sort the diff installation, by sorting out my charge pipe situation. Bought a n55 aluminium charge pipe from Hell BM, happens to be ESP one, drilled a big hole in it, got a turbosmart flange welded on and it fits a lot better than the old one did. So for anyone that can't find a charge pipe to fit a specific type of blow off valve, just buy n55 e chassis charge pipe and weld on the flange that comes with your BOV, n55e chassis and n54 is the exact same shape, n55 just doesn't have the dv ports. Looks a lot better, am still waiting for 6mm vacuum line adapter to get reference signal to bov then will test to see if I get any leaking or fluttering to see if it has the correct spring in it at the moment.

You’d be giving the local BMW dealer credit thinking they could pair a key. I doubt they could program a reset of the service lights.

Overseas people use VINWIKI quite a lot to document the history of cars, it has yet to take off in NZ though. Obviously there are issues with any online WIKI as it is a public run db- my issue with this sale is that there is a strong possibility that someone could buy this without any idea of the history of the car, a car that on paper regardless of how well it was repaired or converted is not as advertised. Omitting details is not appropriate on a 100k sale. I have family that bought a super low km classic from a reputable car museum, who completely ignored the fact that the car had been well shunted. Due to the age of the car and repair it was not on any documentation, but later when questioned about it a huge back story suddenly came to light. People who know me wonder why I'm a control freak and have trust issues....... Genuine people are getting harder to come by everyday.
