Also went down to the hairpin with my boy (6) and we took in a pit visit during quali. Best of the action at the hairpin with a giant screen but a long trek for short legs. He was most excited by the 'smashed car' (Shell Mustang) on a trailer on Sunday. Well, that and a Formula Ford losing all four wheels on the front straight, that was hard to top actually come to think of it. Given the landlords have merged with Ellerslie racecourse and will (according to the memo) set Puke up as a training venue to service Ellerslie, it seems the highest and best use of the land is ................houses. Drop a pin on Pukekohe raceway, if you were not depressed enough about losing a motor racing venue and want to get extra depressed about losing prime dirt: About land use capability » Our Environment (scinfo.org.nz) There is a good debate on one of the racing forums, speedcafe it might have been, on how inadequate all the other venues are in NZ for supercars. Too small, too remote, not close to an airport capable of handling a 747-cargo plane, lap times too short, not enough spectator capacity, track width too narrow, no major population centre, the list goes on. For all Pukekohe being compromised (hard to see over those darned horse railings for one!), it was tried and tested. Shame really.

Yeah, just utterly disappointed. Did my best to try and avoid this by asking around and going with a reputable shop but there you go... Luckily doesn't look to be too catastrophic but absolutely appalled by the lack of care. An engine builder mate of mine is gonna swing by over the weekend and have a look, will hopefully help me tidy up the rough edges. Was gonna start throwing everything together today, drop the crank in, check bearing clearances etc but will hold off now. Will see how we go.

A few years back I used these guys to shift a set of wheels with tyres south to north. They did pickup and deliver door to door for the best price I could find, so worth checking out to see if they are still in business Cheers...

Could try your luck with the Find a Load FB group. Plenty of folks lugging stuff up and down the country, often with room to chuck some more stuff on board. Didn't end up going through with it at the time but found a fella willing to bring a pair of front seats from Auckland to Christchurch for $200 a while ago, as an example.

Mainfreight quoted me just shy of $500 to ship a pair of front seats from Cromwell to Wellington, depot to depot, so add in the rear seat and im not that surprised. Its all about that volumetric weight.

Possibly. Probably best to ring Kayne Barrie Motorsport Ltd and see what he recommends (he rebuilds them). Once the old oil is sucked out you fill till the oil comes out the fill hole. As long as the car is level you can't really overfill it. Capacity depends on how much old oil you get out but will be around 1L give or take maybe 200ml.
