I especially like the mould they've cultivated on the steering wheel... A few more days and it'll be suede!

Don't think its my old one, if it is they have changed lots of wierd stuff, mine had M5 front bumper and wing mirrors, sliding armrest, Msport steering wheel, body colour interior trim, silver rocker covers, etc etc...also, just noticed, mine was M62tu, fly by wire throttle body / cruise control, so probably not mine! Strangely i did see another 540i touring the same colour today locally, they're everywhere!!

Two clicks on the handbrake and you should able to turn the wheels by hand with some force. Three clicks and you shouldn't. I've never seen a handbrake tested while moving with a meter. That would be kinda dumb.

On this basis I would tend to agree with the mechanics initial advice of "look for another engine". It is impossible to say that there is not some rare and/or bizarre factor (that does not bring up a code) and is stopping your engine from starting. Like gelled fuel for example. But that would be unlikely to cause one cylinder to be 100psi low. And since you previously drove for a long distance without noticing any rough running, I would not be expecting stuck rings, but I guess it is possible. I sincerely hope that there will turn out to be some rational explanation to this problem, as I hate unsolved mysteries !!! Good luck. Cheers...

I feel like the wear on the bolsters and rubbers doesn't match how many KM's it has done. Could be 80k km's of city driving.

I got a set of AP Sportfahrwerke lowering springs from Speedfactor as I was wary of the trademe sets, and wanted to buy from somewhere with a warranty. Evan and the team are very knowledgeable and can help you with any questions you may have. They were $350 including shipping and have a great feel to them. They also stock shocks and struts if you're looking to do those at the same time too.
