Hi all Very pleased to find a NZ Bimmer community. I just purchased my first NZ Bimmer, a 2017 F30 340i M-Sport, after driving my Nissan Skyline 350GT Manual for about ten years. I previously owned a 1989 325i which I loved dearly, then a 1998 523i, then a 2001 530d and now, finally, my now-dream-car. I'm also originally from South Africa, and have lived here for 12+ years, now a Kiwi citizen. Very keen to peel back the layers on this car soon and get some more of the unexposed power brought to the surface. Hope to see you all out there. Riaan

Back in the day, when I were a lad, (etc) I had a Mercedes 560SEC. My brother had the 500SEC. His car was more sporting, more responsive. Perhaps more 'fun' to drive. Mine was Smoke Silver, had 17" Oz alloys and looked nicer. Both were automatics. We changed direction a little and he bought an 840Ci (with the 4.4 engine). I bought an 850CSi with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Mine was definitely the more sporty of the two. He 'invested' (OK - we spent a lot of time, effort and no small amount of money), had a 6-speed gearbox fitted, and we demonstrated that BMW had missed a trick. His car was by far the better drive. My car felt lazy by comparison. Nice, fun, and thoroughly enjoyable, but lazy. At the time, and this is well over 10 years ago, my 850CSi cost well under (equivalent) $8k. I was seeing them in the UK for as little as £1500 (NZ$3500 at the time). Big, complex, and expensive to maintain.

You'll need that regulating rod... and you'll have a spare hex nut, bank that one.

They do, but it still doesn’t affect their levels of entitlement!

Idiots posting on Facebook complaining they aren't getting a response from a car dealer about the service they have booked for today. In Hastings. Do these people not see the news?

Now it wears stickers again Swapped out the 90SHa bush for a 75 one, now only shakes like a dog in reverse at idle, and no more wheel hop.

PROVERB: The road to hell is paved with good intentions. POSSIBLE MEANING: 1) People who believe they are doing good can end up doing bad (the law of unintended consequences). 2) There is no value in simply planning to do good if you don't actually do it.

why would you buy from anyone else? Begley Motor Worx (formerly Auto38) - Marton - has a vast stock of parts, most reliable (no broken or worn-out parts), good prices, professional.

You can tell US style FTPs as they have orange indicator lenses. The Euro style are ‘tinted’. As this is a NZ new it should have the euro style ones, which are way better IMO. Looks like the ones on this car maybe US type or are aftermarket - but I’m not aware that they are available as aftermarket. Here’s a pic of a couple nz new examples for ref 😎
