Up for sale is my 2007 BMW 550i Motorsport present in Carbon Black Metallic. This is a pretty sort after vehicle with the optional sunroof. It has just been serviced and has been very well maintained. I am a qualified mechanic and this is my personal vehicle which has had little use since purchasing it. I purchased it with the intention to keep it but plans have changed. With 367hp and 490nm of torque and a zero to 100 time of 4.9 seconds this is the next best thing to an m5 of this era in my opinion. It is pretty darn quick when you put the pedal to the floor and sounds amazing too having some minor exhaust mods to give it a little more of that V8 growl. This is a lot of car for the money. I have priced this to sell and any inspections are welcome. The AC blows perfectly cold. Has Sunroof. Extremely good on fuel on long trips. Xenon headlamps etc For viewings and any other questions please don't hesitate to call me on the numbers listed below. Viewing is in Glenfield during business hours or weekends by arrangement. Thanks for Looking. Kind Regards SJ Now SOLD

Kicked off the subframe reinforcement mission. Jumped at an opening in the rally season to occupy my mate's hoist for a wee while, which makes the task that much easier, although still a bit of a hellish undertaking. Props to all you brave souls that tackle this on jackstands, absolute troopers. A lot more stuff had to come off than I'd anticipated, the whole fuel system seemed like a spider web with endless hoses going everywhere, each one more annoying to get off than the last. Nevertheless, got the underside prepped for welding - plate locations stripped down to bare metal and treated with weld-through primer. Wheel arch joins and RTAB pocket stitch weld areas also cleared from underseal. All looked to have been in good nick, no cracks that I could find in all the usual suspect areas, a few spot welds that looked a bit suspect but none that had obviously popped. Well worth addressing preventatively regardless. A solid weekend's worth of work. One thing I'm undecided on still is how far to go with the topside reinforcing. I did get the weld-in beam to put in but might stop at the chassis rail plates by themselves. The touring boot floor has an extra bracket that makes removing the necessary sheet metal that much less straight forward. Torn between taking the whole bracket out as well or pulling back in scope a bit. During the engine rebuild, I'd been taking every rusty and grimy bolt I got my hands on to the wire wheel on the bench grinder and making them all clean & shiny. Unbeknownst to me, along with the grime and rust I'd also been taking off whatever protective coating they had left so after all of a few months back on the road all of the bolts were now rustier than they had been. I still had a few cans of caliper paint left so have been running a small OCD mission alongside the bigger stuff and tidying up the bolt heads & nuts as well. Can't have any rusty bolts being an eyesore.

Have listed this on Trademe now. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/listing/4344521242 Asking $22K but happy to take $20K. I have, of course, spent plenty more than this. 🤨 If you're a BMW enthusiast and a fan of the E38 7 series - this will appeal. A rare facelift (2001, Sept 2000 build) short wheelbase 750i that started life in NZ with the registration 'BMWNZ1' and has just 13x,000KMs on the clock - with 4 private owners including me. I bought this from an old business associate to save it after it was no longer being driven, and as a proper BMW enthusiast does, poured money into it to get it back in good shape. Now that I've saved it, I'm just not driving it enough and it should be somebody's pride and joy and stored in a garage. Came off the production line in September 2000 Orient Blue paint with oyster leather interior and M-parallel wheels (hard to beat this combo) 5.4l M73TU V12 engine with Steptronic transmission and hydro-servo steering DSC, SLS (Self-Levelling Suspension) with EDC (Electronic Dampener Control) Rear side airbags PDC Double-glazed windows (yes, really) Front and rear seat heating Rear adjustable powered seats with tray tables Car phone and TV - period decorations but maybe not that useful Hi-fi with DSP Hydraulic powered boot PDC I've got receipts for all the work I've had done along the way, including the significant mechanical recommissioning done by a specialist BMW mechanic and a full (but not bare shell) respray. It is a beautiful vehicle that's come up very well, but with its age, it will still benefit from some further cosmetic care. headlining sagging a big in the rear one(?) of the rear speakers is stuffed (these have a bunch of woofers under the rear seat apparently) missing right rear quarter blind If you want a stunning E38 where most of the work has been done already, then I'd love to hear from you. Lowball offers won't be entertained - I've spent too much on this and want it to go to a loving home

IIRC the parking brake light can also be on if the brake fluid is low, so worth checking that or the sensor

Rego rings a bell, wasnt it a forum members? Parking brake is a simple system, its cables and drums inside the rear disk, not a major no matter whats gone wrong (probably a switch) That sub makes me sad

300,000km is nothing these days. Someone just hurt because they bought the arguably the worst\cheapest BMW you can buy then found out after the fact.
