12 Feb 2024. 188659kms I pulled it from the garage and drove it yesterday to get to the Brit & Euro Car Day 2024 at Trentham. It ran beautifully. 1. Final items before sale WoF. Flew through it's WoF. Aircon Re-gas. Completed, comments were 'added dye, it was half full. Working well'. I'm sure that a couple of years with little use didn't help the seals keep the refrigerant in. Added Rego. Easy at VTNZ, expires 31 Aug 2024. 2. Sold. With luck the new keeper may continue this thread... and even join the BMW Car Club of NZ. Parting is such sweet sorrow. I'll miss this car. On the upside, may have a new friend 🙂.

Took my better half to the airport yesterday in the vert. Also went to butterfly creek beforehand with the little one. We had a whole day of driving with the top down. Had my eldest daughter smiling with glee the whole time. It was absolutely priceless. Two more months and then I'm off to the UK to join the future wife for our wedding there in May.

As some of you know I have purchased @Andrewold cabby. I am completely inlove with it. I have the vert tech 1 skirts and rear boot spoiler to complete it but I have spent the last couple of days doing some maintenance as it has been in storage. Changed the timing belt, waterpump, thermostat, engine oil,oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, set the valve clearances and gave it a much needed tune up. Putting in a 3.73 lsd diff and new control arms, inner rack ends, tie rod ends and rear control arm bushings in tomorrow. I plan to paint it very soon and put my 3 piece 16 inch wheels on it. Here are some pics, absolutely in love. Will also be putting the factory tech 1 wheel in it and selling the immaculate tech 2 steering wheel.

Never seen so many E9 and E46 CSLs in one place (Don't worry, it isn't just a bunch of E30s on air with oversized BBS wheels)

Finally got around to swapping the 3.73 lsd diff I had waiting for this car. What a noticeable difference with the ratio change. It is a lot more lively now. The diff has barely done 1000ks since a rebuild but has been in storage for 5 years or so. I treated it to some Penrite differential oil for LSD diffs and gosh it makes it wonderful to drive.

"The E30 reigns supreme in my heart always." Me too brother, if you need anyone to take care of her while you're in the UK... I'm selfless like that 🤣

It will be one of the centre heat shields. Mine does it on occasion. I just give it a little bend until it stops. Right dead centre of the car though. Any exhaust shop or mechanic should be able to give it a tweak for you. Otherwise I could help sometime after work next week. I have a hoist and am in Featherston just over the hill.

I've been dailying this to work since I got it and sorted out all the maintenance and pre-maintenance items and it has been the most joyful experience. My f30 has been left sitting at home lately but got the opportunity to use it yesterday evening to Orewa to go to the beach with my fiancé and my daughter. I love both cars for different reasons but the e30 reigns supreme in my heart always

Got a much needed clean today. I am very happy with how the car looks for now. Will be trying to paint and put on the skirts next week as well as the tech 1 rear wing. But for now, here she is in all her Delphin glory 🥰 so inlove with how it drives now too. Odo stopped working yesterday so ordered some gears from Garagistic. Will fit them as soon as they come.

Hello everyone, I’m Thomas and I live in Paris. Ooooh outrage.. Yeah sorry, I wish I lived in NZ but that’s what it is. I actually live on the west side of Paris in Boulogne-Billancourt, just next to the seine river and the Forest of St-Cloud. (You really can’t make that sh*t up) Long story short, my grand father was big on cars (used to work in those Peugeot and Renault car manufacturing plants) and his last two cars were Bmw’s. He was very proud of owning a BMW in the late 90’s and early 2000´s. Fast forward 20 years, when I came back from New York and settled back in Paris in 2021, I inherited the E46 316ti Compact which had at this time something like a 280k mileage. Today It just passed 300k and I would like to maintain it so it goes another 100k, 200k, maybe another 300k on the same N42 engine. I’ll share a few pictures of my loyal bimmer with you guys. I recently read a post by another user named Alan who had issues with his E46 N42B20 and I saved a full post response going through the details of the issues I had on my E46 N42B18. I’ll look on the forum and see if I can find it again. Cheers to all and good shifting Tom
