It's good to be back. I recently picked up this E36 M Sport: I had no intention of owning this, I saw it in a carpark and told the owner I liked their car. Next thing she's giving me the keys and said if you still like it at the end of the month, you can buy it. It definitely felt too good to be true, but here we are. The two owners in the last fifteen years are her and her company. 160,000km and New Zealand new, the '328 S' plate has been with the car since '95. It's an unfamiliar starting point for me since it works, and I don't want to break anything. Suspect rear main seal is leaking, so there is that, and then I'll work through the typical E36 things, but to be honest I just want to give this thing a detail and drive it. I can't say I ever progressed from a bucket and sponge, but I recently started watching: AMMO NYC - YouTube and I'm keen to learn. Sing out if you're local (North Shore, Auckland) and have some wisdom to share, or just want to go for a drive (when I've fixed the oil leak).

Listed on Trade Me so even more details there: https://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=4570670321 Located in Wellington, asking price is $8500 though I'm flexible. Sharp looking E70, I've fixed a bunch of issues (PCV, side lights, wing mirror caps, new Vanos Solenoids, new FPR valves, new MAF, all filters etc) and added in new style BMW grilles.

Drove it once this weekend as it was my eldest's 6th birthday. Took the dog out for a drive and walk which he loved. May be going to the Brit and Euro show next Sunday with my old man and his baur. Anyone other e30 owners on here going?

Reading this makes me kick myself for selling my e36 328 manual, such great cars! That was ten years ago, around the bottom of the market (around 5,5k🤬) Great to see tidy and well loved examples getting used, and that B3🤤! Super stoked with the current e39 540, but still have a major soft spot for an e36 coupe, one day…….

Six months of trouble free daily driving. Grabbed a coffee with @nath and his B3 yesterday. Only Alpina I’ve seen in NZ since leaving the UK almost ten years ago, worth the wait.

Any ideas if I would need the b40 ECU to run? What kind of $$ would you want for it? Mark

Hi, I've got a m60b40 from an e34 I can sell. It was running well before removal, it is high km's with around 300k. Located north of Auckland. Cheers

Date: 23 Feb 2024 Distance: 210,335 kms 1. Flat tyre Hmmmm. Drove the car Weds night, it was pulling to the left and seemed a bit dead. Checked pressures… 3psi down on both fronts, right rear down 3psi, left rear down to 13psi (!). Gark in the rim and a corresponding gark in sidewall - thankfully not deep. Dropped into my trusty tyre guy this morning. Nail found, Tyre demounted, repair effected, remounted and tested, wheel reinstalled. Job’s a good ‘un 2. Rego Ordered another 12 months rego. $106.

If you thought the Sony Carplay tablet install was a bit of a far step from OEM you're gonna love the latest changes to this one.

Sad times indeed, so many amazing memories and friends made. But life does go on, maybe I’ll get back into car racing in 10 years. For the near term I have two small humans that use up all my time now. If it’s any consolation I think I’m going to fill the parking spot with something that has twice the horsepower, but no wheels. 😉 I’ll definitely give a discount for Bimmersport members, might throw in Jons spare front valance and the keys to the website too 😂

Perfect car to get into BMW racing. I do miss those days, especially that convoy of 540i's towing E30's to Manfeild with Andrew.
