Sedans are better 🙂 Frames on the windows, stiffer chassis... just saying, things to consider.

The junction box (fuse box behind glovebox) changes between prefacelift and facelift variants. A white plastic junction box is prefacelift while the gray is facelift. Assuming your vehicle is prefacelift (2006) this should be relevant for your vehicle: A4010a is the JBE (junction box electronics) with two large plugs on the front, at the bottom of the junction box. Given the symptoms I'd suggest ensuring the plugs on both the car and steering-wheel side of the clock spring (A72 steering column switch center) are seated fully and check continuity across the clock spring.

Yeah I went and had a look at it, paint is rough as, so would need a full respray, and has some dodgy rust coverup in the boot, been painted with truck bed liner and rust is coming back through that. Interior is tidy though and seems generally fairly well cared for. plan is nothing crazy just a nice simple m52b28 + manual swap and Some nice wheels. Just want a fun street car.

Usually the auto bit would be an issue for me. But not for one of these. Auto would be fine for how I would use this.

Anyone have an old idrive screen unit they want to get rid of? Doesn’t have to be working, I only need the front part of the lcd casing in good condition, which attaches to the motor drive mechanism to resurrect my one again.

Seems to have gotten around the country. This was taken with mine about 8 years ago in dunedin when a friend had it. Only hand like 40k in the clock then I think.
