Despite the "lack of enthusiasm" I figured I'd share the big reveal moment from my handover today

This is Continental Cars BMW, everything I've purchased from them has been new, boxed, and with warranty. G20 3er - $300 G02 X4 - $250 F39 X2 - $195 https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/search?member_listing=7606675 This is a PSA, I have no association with the sellers.

disagree with this, n54 is arguably a stronger engine and easier to tune, although I agree that a m135i is a better, much more balanced car than a n54 130i would be

I'm glad you've got that outcome but be wary, you shouldn't have been dealing with the insurance company, they're paying Novus to do the job correctly. So, to ensure it doesn't get worse, be sure to let Novus know that they should take it to the dealer and you only want it back when it's fixed or certified by BMW as working as expected. If Novus are left in any doubt it's their job to call up the insurer and sort it out, not yours. As for a dealer loaner also if it's going to be in there for more than a day.

1000kV DC link is what ya want, China are doing obscenely long transmission. Some big boy PV stuff going in Aus also. The infrastructure is mental, the synchronous condensers on those big projects are upwards of 250 tons. One we SourceSafe an armature that weighed 180t and needed a road built to get it to site 🤦‍♂️ We need more localised production, not just for EV but for future proofing NZ. Heatpumps are as big of an issue, same problems with inverters making yucky stuff happen on the grid And we need to boot the old boys club that is the NZ generation and transmission companies, govt has little to do with it and frankly they would struggle to do a worse management job

I'm letting Novus deal with insurance, I'm just annoyed that I have had to prod them along by contacting the dealer pro-actively. They would have been far happier if I had just mucked about with seat position and found a spot where it looked better. I'm fairly sure the trip to the dealer will be a waste of time in any event as I feel it is a defect in the glass. It's just the hassle as well - two weeks before the dealer can fit me in, and if it does need another windscreen, well the last one took about two weeks as well. So if its going where I think its going it'll be July by the time it's sorted, considering I had the chip claim approved on May 2 it's a nuisance! Happy to be proved wrong though!
