Hi all, I have been reading a few threads about your E46's, so thought I would post a few pics of my daily. Its a 2003 330d M-sport Touring. Originally a UK Car, very high spec with factory sat nav, Harmon Kardon, Glass sunroof and heated seats. I really love the torque and power from these engines, and they even sound good! I have had no issues with it since my ownership apart from a new air con compressor last year. Its just been routine maintenance using genuine parts supplied from the BM Workshop here in ChCh. Thanks for looking.

Don't have as much time anymore with being back to work but slowly chipping away at it as much as I can. Bolted up the fancy new bracket. Will use the auto flywheel as it's smaller and less hassle to install. Also checked over all the nuts and bolts I had access to whilst being under there, everything is torqued to spec so don't think that would have been the issue. Just to be safe, took out the left side oil pan bolt, cleaned everything and replaced it with a clean bolt from the old engine. Used some thread sealer on it as well although there's no threads below the pan gasket anyway so unlikely that it'd make a difference. Also managed to track down some UV dye finally. Only one I could find was this one that's technically meant for AC systems but should still do the job. Don't think it'd have anything in it that would do any damage to the gaskets or anything. Only thing I'm unsure about is how well it holds up to higher temperatures but I guess I'll find out. Not a cheap endeavour at $200 retail (good guy at the counter at NAPA gave me trade price at $120) but if it saves me from doing this all over again then it's money well spent. Will reassemble the intake and everything around it and try start the car back up over the weekend. Will hopefully help get on top of it.

An actual cooling system refresh - all hoses with new clamps and new fans blades to boot. Ive never replaced so many parts at once.

Due to time, skill, and wanting to spend time with the family this week while on holiday, Eagle gave me a hand to put the new cooling system in place. Thanks very much again Jarrod car is back and working perfectly. The only gremlins appeared lately is the fan not having reliable electrical supply the seems to be due to some compressed wires in the loom around the headlight. they have like the way they do since I’ve owned the car. This will need further investigation when it’s not so hot, and I can stop sweating into the engine bay to look at it. so, the only thing to do now is to drive the wheels off the car 😎

Hi Vass, Thanks for the comments - I decided to keep it, my other half loves it and was not too happy about it being sold, so she got her way and i withdrew the advert. Glad I did tho, I would miss it. Good luck getting yours sorted! Hopefully its just a hairline crack on the sensor.

Some more photos of the car as it sits now, very happy with the exterior except for maybe a front lip or different front bumper in the future... on to the interior next.

When you arrive to drop off some wheels tyres and the fella says "oh, I thought I was buying a whole car" 🤦‍♂️

Finally the planets aligned.. It’s a week-end. The sun is out. An excuse to drive the convertible. The convertible is all together, and legal. Went to pick up daughter from her work shift, and this time we made it back in one piece and didn’t break down at Sylvia Park! Winning!!
