Recieved rear driveshaft back, both UJs replaced, looks schmiko. Fitted brand new center support bearing, and front half back on, taking note of the paint marks i put on it as it came out. guibo shows no signs of wear so no need to replace, and all back in. also replaced the transmission mounts with some 335i ones inhad lying about while in there. one was a bluetooth mount, the other held up coming up but as soon as on ground and In disturbed it it broke. Have never seen so perished, and they have an ‘01 stamp on them so they have been there right from the start took for a wee drive around the block, its still a diesel so still a tiny hint of vibration, but huge improvement, and no vibration at all under boost any more, so a job well done! @treone nah I've given notice on my rented garage, and getting rid of storage next will free up ~$550-600/month. With a prevailing wind I should have the e30 project back on track this year...

Just another rubbish tyre with a dumb name category, not the worst maybe but its like comparing a dog crap with cow crap. We sell both at work and lots of customers have switched over to Continental UC6's, just regular drivers and most are happy with the extra cost for very noticeable difference. When you got old and worn vehicles the tyres do a lot of work.

I am a sucker for a bargain, so I bought a very cheap Z3 that wouldn't run. Its a 2L M52TU and the previous owner stated the issue was the throttle body. I pulled the TB out and it was corroded shut. In the boot of the Z3 was another one, so I swapped it out, and now it runs nicely. These are a few more issues to fix: It sits very low in the rear and could do with being raised a bit. Not sure if it has factory springs, will have a look. The airbag light is on and I get the code, 1A MRS Seat Occupancy Recognition 1 (SBE1). I am assuming this is the seat occupancy sensor. Was thinking of using an Emulator. I also get F0 MRS, internal control unit fault. From what I have read this is not a good code to get as it locks the module. It can be reprogrammed, might be a call to Pramod. I get the code: A2 EGS: Brake Signal. From what I can see this is a faulty brake pedal switch. The central locking isn't working and I get: OD Central locking drive, open circuit. Yet to research. I also get 01: Fuse interior lighting. Load consumer deactivation. again yet to research this. Oh and its missing the front marker lights. The bonus is that the car has a warrant and rego, had nice two tone heated leather seats and is an LCI with and LSD and M sport suspension. My daughter likes it, and feels this will be hers. Her twin sister has a 130i. If anyone has any thoughts on the codes or fixes please feel free to comment.

Negative, went with the Powerflex bushings all round. Are the mono balls supposed to offer some big advantage ? Thankyou for the kind words I used to be a design / mechanical engineer many years ago and have always been into things mechanical / technical / hands on ... whether that is playing with cars or designing / building a deck etc. I'm in the tech game now and have been for some time so this project ticks a lot of boxes for me and the things I enjoy doing 👍

Another really satisfying milestone here getting the engine bay wiring virtually complete !! Just need to wire the back side of the 'secondary' plug which will have all of the wiring that will head into the cabin.
