1990 will still be the M30 engine I think Grant, M60 came in 1992.

Got a mate who's going to get the bottom steering knuckle changed. The Telstar has a different spline from the BMW, so have to get the bottom half of the Telstar matched to the top half of the BMW, luckily the universal is the same size on both, so shouldn't be too hard.

The 530 has a larger 3 bolt flange, I'm pretty sure the box is too different, but Brent or Marty will know.

No, the E34 has a M30 motor, the E30 is a M20, different bolt pattern amongst other things, output flange etc.

The new one is early preface, should have come with a pressed metal plate which mounts on the back of that box to take the shift lever. You can still use the short shift I believe.The one I have out here has the cast fitting like your first one. -

no obc won't work, as Mike said, apart from the auto box, which is worth $500 or so, and you'll have to wait for the right person to come along, not much else has any value.

I guess the TV and Radio do work tho, even if you do need a band expander, it's only the nav which won't work.

I use a twink pen to do the marking. Can you see a number on the cam, I have one here which has the right front and is a 1 255 930 cam.

Pretty sure the camshaft is quite different, I know the pistons etc are, and you'd need to be sure you weren't going to get valve clash? I may have a 2.5 cam in my collection, if I can find it I'll let you know.

Hire a trailer and get it up to Mike, you won't get a better deal and it's drop in drive out.

Needs to be a M30 box, yours won't work. The box alone would eat up your budget, I'd stick to a straight swap.
