At the end of the day, it's only an automatic 318. It's not worth more than maybe $4000 IMHO if you were lucky, no matter how nice, and I've bought a few. Mechanically low K's don't always mean much, it's more how the car's been looked after, would be nice to see some pics, but won't change my opinion.

Kim, buy what suits you and what you feel comfortable in. If you enjoyed driving the compact, and it comes into your budget range, then go for it. Only thing I'd do is check the price against other E46 compacts to make sure it's the right price, and get a mechanical done on it. Remember most suggestions on here are from guys who know what they want, you need to get what you want, not what they think you want.

Yeah, we outbrake them, also we seem to have almost as much initial acceleration, it's only the topend where they still rule I think, hence why they do so well at Puke.The 318's are certainly the easiest to drive.

Not really, we get a full season on the track out of ours, including to and from meets, and track days and testing. Roughly 400 laps at 3k's per lap, so about 1200 k's of race use. Your tyre man should be able to help, Jonno? Must admit, they're slicks by then tho.

Manual box in a 318 for sure, do it easy in a day. There are a couple of 4 doors, doesn't seem to make a lot of difference to be honest. The 318 box is unique to that motor, 318 engine won't fit up to a 320 or 325 box.

Just 3 quick questions, If Oscar could log in, why did Laurence have to use his login? Computer only remembers login if you want it to, you have to tell it to, it's not automatic? If Oscar isn't banned, why is he still using Laurence's login? No arguments from me over the cab, I think it's gorgeous.
