M20 Problem With Oil Pressure Spring Spring Thing?

Would guess it's your cam tensioner, 19 and 20 on this. -
Mainly the young and guilty, and most still haven't twigged?
-
The most common fault is under the intake manifold, where the 2 small hose pieces are. These perish and leak.
-
320 is 80 bore by 66 stroke, 325 is 84 by 77.

Started life as a 92 525i, but still the tits.

I reckon Martyn's on the phone already?

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-189970473.htm Got to be the best value on Tme at the moment, M5 for $15k?

Hammer's too small, needs to be much bigger.
-
Happy Birthday Paul, hope you have a good one.
-
Paid about $90 from supercheap from memory, used it heaps since.
-
pressed all mine out with a cheap press, easy.
-
Riley, you need the diff out of a E28 525e, usually 2.93, 3.07, or 3.25 med cases. Just change the output shafts and back cover and clutch pack and off you go.
-
Correct, you can change the clutch pack into any med case diff, need to get it set up tho and that's not cheap.
-
Go buy a lotto ticket, you've hopefully learnt something and it hasn't cost you anything.

Tools are easy to get thru Ebay, or you can make your own which work just the same. As Glenn says, it makes a big difference.
-
It has a little adjustment each way Graham. One tooth out equated to around 5 hp on our car. Makes a big difference, about 4 secs at Puke.
-
Have a few for me Gerald, hope you have a good one.
-
Have you dropped the trailing arms, the shocks and the shafts, also I had to remove the petrol tank hose where it goes into the tank, made it a bit easier? Should have plenty of room then, have done 4 or 5 that way now.
-
Been using one for 3 years now, very happy thanks Jono and Keith .
-
You would have been lucky even then to get $800 Ollie, my last set I bought about then cost me $400.
-
You did well Martyn, at that price maybe I should sell one of the sets I've got?
-
haven't I done well for you Martyn, past what I was willing to pay now tho, sorry.
