  1. Thanks Guys I got the right fluid and i think the leak has stoped, just need to change the fluid next w.e and if my shifters cut by then it should be good to go Cheers
  2. Hi Guys this is basically what info i have 1. do you know what fluid to put in there are 3 different fluids for our tranies. 2. there will be either a male 17mm pointing straight down and one to the pass side OR female 17mm at the same locations. 3. pull out the fill plug first. 4 if you have the female plugs use some wt of gear lube like 75-90 / 80-90 or anything else really. 5 if you have the male plugs you should have a bright sticker on it one is green and says special on it and i think the other is orange. if you have the green sticker that calls for synchomesh fluid GM makes the best stuff, 6 the orange sticker calls for dextron III And stupid question whats the diffrence between male and Female plugs?? also i dont have any stickers on mine and the gearbox from a e32 pretty sure its a 260/5. any help would be appreciated as i think the seals leaking and just hope its cause of the fuild is getting to hot cheerss
  3. Thanks Guys For the great responce i am definatly going to add this to the ??? mark list - for mods as i know how stupid it sounds but my e28 is like my 2nd baby gives me enough grief and once completed want it to be a work of art stupid as it sounds its going to cost me the dollars $$$$ so whats a few extra here and there to make her prestine and back into the beauty like it once was. my big concerns with using the e28 body is the limited space i have so the cleaner i have it look the better. and it needs to be a sleeper car dont want a to out there car - looks dead but is alive with furry ive got the 4g63t for the fun which once the engines finished ill have to find a shell now that will be a descion and a half. but thanks guys ill look into my ITB options and go from there
  4. Hi Guys im sure this has being brought up before. what are the advantages and dis advantages of Having ITB's setup - im more leading towards for my Turbo setup. but want to know really whats best, as im going to be spending the dollars so whats another $$$ added to the list of pieces for the m30 ive seen some setups and they seem to sound nicer but are there performance gains in any off this or keep it stockish and increase intake inlet and custom intake manifold for better gains Cheers

  16. Thats a Mint looking car and if i had the funds i would prob complete the turbo conversion on the m30, cause that car is to high class for me ill stick to $600-1500 cars so if i crash it doesnt really matter - you car is a piece of art and not for hands of a young gun Cheers
  17. Dont get me started with WOF crap i had to get my e28 re registered and WOf - passed fine - then next time i went geuss what they had forgot to note that the ABS was taken out when last certered and brake system changed to vaccum cause of couple of issues, after just about beating the guy that entered the stuff in the computer before asking - even though it was the same place that registered it. got pinged with $350 for a cert for my brakes and the guy didnt even test them foot on brake didnt go down that was it, they are sposed to do a 100-0 stop tests and told the guy "you F*k my car you can by me a new one, think he didnt want to take a chance that it crashed and would have to give me a new car - had a nice V8 sitting in the garage lolz make it clean but used thats the theroy
  18. Thanks Guys Brent your right found info on mye28.com "The head itself bolts right on, bolt hole patterns are the same, coolant passages line up. The primary problem is oil return from the cambox. The M88/S38 block has provisions on the side of the block for this while the M30 block does not. However this isn't a deal killer and one could easily tap the oil pan like the turbo guys do for oil return from the cambox. The front end of the engine isn't that bad either, but modification of the block will need to be done to support the idler pulley for the timing chain. There will probably be additional machine work needed in this area as well. Obviously it would be much simpler and less expensive to acquire an S38b35 than to modify a M30 block for the S38 top end. " So it can be done and reakon it would be a mintter if it was setup, cause whats cost of a S38B35 and mods required to put into a e28, Would anyone in here have the cylinder head for sale depentant on price or can someone take a pic of the bottom side to see how modding would need to be done Chers kym
  19. Hi Guys I was just wundering if anyone would know if a m88/3 cylinder head would fit onto a M30 bassed engine as i belive the block was a m30, would there be much performance gains from the extra valves, being on a m30 engine i know some mods would proberly be needed, but in terms of turbo setup's etc for high end drag/track performance would the upgrade be viable Cheers
  20. You can always Jimmy wires from the sensors etc to check if its a break in the wiring somewhere, i tried following mine to the relays etc and somewhere was still not working so jimmied some test wires and presto they work so just found somewhere were the gauge was getting powered and just added my wire to bypass the break

Hay mate depenant on who you got it from the m30b35 goes from $500 - $1500 as usuall and depending if you wanted auto or manual, depends on cost - shipping is normally around 100 - 300 for it on a pallet maybe bit more with gearbox, i would go on a hunt cause i know that there is properly few around christchurch and in peoples sheds lolz, i did a engine transplant found quite easy just make sure you find all the wires first before going and copping etc away, i had to jimmy my tacho and and few other wires as i got lost in the mess it goes so thats good enough for me CHeers kym
  22. Thanks ill go hit him up next w.e, and try get some pics for you guys
  23. The Car would defo need a good work over, think he has enough for it to be a rolling shell, would need to be sanded down and repainted etc, he also has the engine - i would say around the 500 mark for the shell with doors etc on it, maybe no windows as im not to fussed to the engines in and running. ill see if im up there next w.e to try go over and get some pics if hes upto it. but any info on even a rough price people would pay would be good, its going to be for my partner if i did get it.
  24. I know for a Fact that either my Transmission is getting to hot or my oil in my car is, would say its the transmission and being a manual on a auto diff its strainging it and after every drive had that great burning smell and the creaking of heated metal so i figured i need something to cool the trans down and i know for the rest of the mods to the car the cooler i can have things running the less wear i am going to get.
  25. Hay Guys Does anyone know of some Parts that i can mount into my BMW without going to supercheap etc and paying $130 for a oil/transmission cooler that i garentee wont do squat lolz. i have oil/Trans cooler out of a honda but unless i get the piping redone o wont be able to use it, would need to reflare the ends so i can srew or place some hose onto it, any ideas would be appreciatied Cheers kym
