    O2 Sensor

Hi Guys I have a O2 sensor laying round my place of my 4g63t engine im doing up and wundered what the advantages of drilling a hole and getting put into the exhuast would do for the e28 its got motronic 1.3 and the e32 M30b35 in it - so is it worth putting it in there for the stock car or just let it do its own thing, seems to run pretty good most of the time since i managed to get it going. Cheers
  2. HI Guys im down in welly wood and im giving my old alfa to my sister to get her licence and wanted to know if anyone knows were is a good place to get the Carbs serviced - they are dont webber - Delloite carbs i think if i spelt it right it has a 1700cc engine and stock air intake mite change for single airfilters soon to make it run better. also i really need to get a bigger starter motor for it i only have the 1500cc one and its kinda like a bmw one if it doesnt have enough power it wont even start the car take me hooking up the bimmer or another car to get enough crank power Cheers kym
  3. Im a big one for making calls and texting while driving. will admit texting has caught me out a few times and nearly crashed, but i really think it should be banned outright cause in reality why do we need to text or ring while we are driving unless its a emergency and the proof shows us outright that no matter what hands free buting it by your ear that you loose most of your concentration from driving. i mean it was proven that its safer to look at your phone and text while driving than to not look and write it without looking cause you think more about what you are writing than driving. lolz anyways most other countrys have had bans for years and most roads in nz have places you could pull over to text for call if you really needed to. any ways we are going to have to deal with it either way, - flag this rule and change it so if you see someone going to drink drive you can do a citizen arrest (cause we all know drunk drivers are worse than phone users)

    Dual Sim Phone?

There are going to get alot of these types of phones come out on the market - due to 2 degress being a chinese bassed company if i remember two sims is good to a point but why would you need both seen vodafone and 2 degress are just as cheap to each other as having indivigual sims common ive got a old telescum nokia and i can put a vodafone sim card in it, and with a bit of playing can swap between the 2. but most companys wont allow the 2 sim card phones as they are big competition and good ways of getting free stuff +1 to the phone - and the price worth a shot if you get 6 months warrenty
  5. I will admit - you guys are right when people think race car is -" A car that goes at very fast speeds designed for use on race tracks" yet you could have a 100hp civic as a race car but ergo that isnt going to beat a m3 street car. i have mates that have Performace street cars up the wazzzo, and just from being in both a street and race car there are noticeable diffrences on how it performs eg. mates 6.5 tommi that is designed for the track but street car and my mate evo 4 rs which is a street car designed as a race car niether would compare to and actuall evo race car in weight/power ratio but i belive race car - is a track bassed car street car - everyday driver simple but swwet
  6. Looks Great Marty Clean engine bay best thing to see compaired to some of these turbo conversions and all you see under the hood is wires - save us all. Dyno will be interesting and also a Power to $$ ratio - so us M30 Fans can see what sort of power we are putting out for price compaired to the rest of the world bit off topic but when ever us NZ'ers show up in overseas forums with our turbo's etc people think we are nuts spending nothing and getting heaps of power Besides the ammount to substances we take while modifing our cars
  7. Goggle translated - Mad Modification to the engine http://74.125.67.132/translate_c?hl=en-GB&...oMlFOOeyv22gx_g just for something to look at - will admit whoa when i read it and the pics if it put out the power they wanted damn
  8. I think i agree with everbody really - Its a choice that you make Aftermarket , Stock , Chip they all have advantages and dis advanatages depending on what you want to do with your car. and Miller performance who created this seem to Say to using as much stock stuff as they can eg. have a 12 injector standard m30 intake manifold. and somehow boosted i think around 8psi or bit more on the motronic ecu. Everyone has swayed me to use gavin at Hi velocity when i finally do my ECU stuff even if i have to ship the car to Auckland would rather have someone that knows the car they are working on compared to these Jap dyno guys who seem to think its all power not how the car goes example. my mates evo 4 rs with evo 7 engine - spent 3k for dyno+ ecu installed and tuned only puts 280bhp at 14psi - and still runs crap to my other mate - GSR with larger turbo etc - 1k for tune - stock ecu and putting out about 290bhp at same boost levels and sounds great and i mean motronic do after market ECU's expensive to boot and i never seemed to read what they do diffrent
  9. Hi Guys Have Come accross this on the internet today and looks pretty mint and Cheap $350 http://www.millerperformancecars.com/war-chip.html what do you guys reakon for a off the shelf adjustable ecu chip - or just go with megasquirt - i mean if it allows you to do 4 diffrent tunes that is pretty good not really much information on the chip that i can find so far
  10. Ive already had to pay for that when the ABS got taken out and the Wof station that re-registered the car didnt change the details argh $300 for nothing and yea ill give it a try - just need to make it look nice and i mean the current shell cost me $600 in working order (well without 2nd gear in the auto) with a registration - until it had a few accidents etc and got taken off the road and i fogot to put rego on hold that was costly but will see how it goes thanks guys
  11. Gutting for me oh well lets see how clean i can sus it out and ill bring pic's to see what people think, but i have read the WOF spreedsheets and it states you are alowed to change the intake manifold - aslong it doesnt give you a performance upgrade of more than 20% - and the block has no markings besides on the intake stating size so your right unless they know about bmw's i dont think they will notice that anything is diffrent. if they do then ill have to get a new shell - and use the current one for a play car with a evo engine in it
  12. Hay Guys I went with the Opposite to Silver fox 540i fronts , 750i rears - and wholly the first time i tested the brakes (seen i have no abs) with the 540i on the front the car nearly fish tailed but stopped alot quicker than my stock one defo the best brake upgrade to fit under 15's ive had - besides going aftermarket
  13. Hi Guys Basically Quick questions i have read over the WOF - checklist sheets and there is a few things im worried with. 1. Engine mount (swapped in a M30B35 from a E32 and was missing Mount bolt hole) so created a temporary Right mount with Stock e28 mount+Metal Bracket) - would i need to get this remade or welded 2. Hole were Gearlever Goes ( Cut Larger towards rear of car due to space issue - 10cm more back) 3. Modified Driveshaft e28+e32 (couldnt get E32 spline of Manual Gearbox without to much cost, so had drive shafts welded together) 4. minor cracked indicator lens (still works fine and looks fine) 5. Wiring location (put wiring loom through back of firewall in small 15x15cm hole maybe bit smaller) 6. Shimmy when driving on my 17 with 245/40/R17 - reakon just needs blancing/alinment (defo some 240/40/R17's when i have the cash to stop bumb and grind on big bumps) So any help on above topics would be greatly appreciated, otherwise i may be forced to - BUY A SHELL or Get A Semi Dogy Wof for some beer
  14. My question would be Why does he need it the stock setup should do it fine? if hes having heating problems it proberly something bigger if not a standard upgrade kit - off the shelf could do just getting it tapped right and maybe a auxaliry pump might be needed. and all depends on how much he wants to spend
  15. Hi Brent The engine is the M30B35 i got off you awhile back out of a E32, and the Getrag 260 box i have said it was out of a e32 and has a sensor on the side with two wires hanging off using motronic 1.3 - so dont know if i need to do anything with these wires?? - can they be connected to the Tachomater as i major failed and couldnt find some of the wiring connections for Tacho so just connected it to the coil but when i hit i big bumb it falls off. Cheers
  16. Hi Guys My Getrag 260 has a sensor on the side of the box (out of a e32) and im geussing that i need to wiring this into the speed sensor input on the motronic 1.3 wireing harness - i was using a wire off the coil to the speedinput and the car seemed to go fine. but now i had to take that wire off for wof reasons, do i just need to wire it up or is there some testing i should do first Cheers
  17. Thanks Guys ill just sus the reverse sensor lolz only thing i dont have
  18. That Defo puts shame on my $160 alfa twinspark sitting in the garage at home. and +1 on the style they had class back in the days
  19. Yea that looks like it - but the first link i put is actually the holder that bolts onto the back of the gearbox and sits up against the car dont think itl be a biggy - going to get my selector rod cut tommorow so if that goes well its going to drive anyway
  20. I dont have any of that - i just basically Screwed the mounting arm to the car instead of having all the pretty cover etc seen i didnt have it and left it so does having all the shifter mounting parts acutally matter - as it shifts gears fine just a gapping hole to the ground and exhaust
  21. Info Mazda RX7 / B2600 Transmission How the hell will an RX7 transmission work? This came as quite a suprise to me as well. Here is the background. Mazda built the Mazda B2600 for several years. During two of those years ('87-'88), the carburated engine blocks were the 2.6L G54B! The other "2.6" engine produced during this time was called the G6. This is also known as the MPV block. The RX7 transmission WILL NOT bolt to any 4G6x engine. You will need a B2600 bellhousing to adapt it to the Mitsubishi wideblock. It is also possible to bolt the B2600 transmission up, but it may have a longer input shaft which will not work with the Starion flywheel. Here is an image comparing the bellhousings: http://www.projectzerog.com/images/rx7tran...gComparison.jpg Transmission: Mazda Model R - B2600 / RX7 Turbo Flywheel: Starion Pressure Plate: Starion / RX7 Clutch Disk: Starion / RX7 Starter: Starion
  22. Hi Guys See link below http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?mo...hg=25&fg=05 this is a part that i currently dont have no my manual conversion along with a reverse switch but instead have just bolted up the shifter to the underside of the car and seems fine. but is it worth getting the extra bits so it looks better or if it goes just leave it as is. also if anyone has any how much??
  23. That would be good but no reason to run 25psi the 4g63t (unless you want to)you put out a nice 280hp on 550cc injectors at 90% duty cycle with evo 7 pistons running around 16psi, so im sure you are going to have fun, get a good tune , and defo make sure that bottom end is made strong as its the most prone thing to go on these engines. ill defo add to this post as my engine starts to get together project cost about 5k total so just see how it goes. but good luck and have lots of fun
  24. This will be good, im doing the same thing but will proberly be using it as a swap out engine for the e28 all going well. Hay wolliver - how much did you spend on your gearbox etc, as i still need to get new piston rings for my engine its running low compresion on cylidner 1 but still need all other jim jams for it Good luck will be great to see

    door problem

Hay Mate I would admit if you can get in the car i would take the inner pannel out and replace the whole lock, and the whole door's not unlocking i have the same thing on my E28 when the battery gets low or my wiring is playing up. ultimatly i belive the door lock has a double locking sytem (my e28 one does) where it double locks and is near impossible to unlock. - check your wiring, my wiring for the central locking was on the left hand behind the speaker, but once i put some new relays in there is working a carm and common old wiring will give up. 1. Check wiring and battery charge 2. replace or CRC door lock just remember these cars were designed on being left hand drive not right so alot of the double locks etc are on the other side
