Anything is cheap with its on special so lets compare apples with apples; Bmw coolant $25 per 1.5litres, Nulon at $20 per 1.5litres. Certainly not 400% more expensive is it?
-
Unless you are paying $5 a litre for your coolant. Bmw stuff is like $25 for 1.5litres and then 50/50 mix it with water No it's not, still have to mix it 50/50 with water

Newly purchased 135i running badly - beginning of a saga?
Gaz replied to SteveArmy90's topic in Maintenance
AA inspections don't remove any of the engine covers or undergrad so I doubt they check fault codes -
That how car dealers work, they buy cheap cars and sell them for more. Doesn't matter if it is dime a dozen Toyota or a special edition M3 they are in it to make money and that is how they do it. I'm sure that when they do sell it on then the person buying it is still going to enjoy it, whether they are in NZ or not. The difference is you'd want the M3, and not the Toyota

Exactly, given half a chance I'm sure anyone would jump at the chance to make a dollar or 2
-
Dealers have them in stock usually

Originally built by Jason and then after the accident swapped into the saloon by my mates younger brother. Insane car
-
Part of the reason is safety. Don't want to be changing a tyre on the side of the autobahn at night. M cars don't come on runflats and they are proper sports cars
-
If we had insurance then car would be fixed and he would probably have a Baycorp notice. That's ok, his house is on my way home so I don't mind stopping off every other day to see how things are going
-
Yep that is what we are going to do. Even offered to pay half of the excess to avoid any hassle but not interested in that either
-
Can't stress this enough as dealing with something similar. Recently purchased a new car for the Mrs and hadn't sorted any type of insurance in the week after buying the car, she was hit by a young dude with 3rd party. Great, his insurance will cover ours, well not unless he pays his excess which he is refusing to do so do to 'lack of money which I doubt...

Who can code the Auto Stop/Start to be off by default?
Gaz replied to Last Manual Standing's topic in Electrical system
Yep stopped that after the whole VW thing. If you have had it coded out, and if the vehicle gets a software update, the stop/start function will be reinstated -
Anyone wrecking an F10? Need some drivers door seal parts

BMW M approved Castrol Edge tws 10w 60 vs ...
Gaz replied to BreakMyWindow's topic in General Discussion
TWS is still available but only in 5litre packs, they've stopped doing the 1litre -
Id say it's about 2k over priced to be honest as there's nothing really desirable about it apart from perhaps the service history
-
Have you owned it since new? The gearbox and engine adaptions may have been reset with the update so might be a case of drive it and see
-
They are more or less a X1 which I think is a great town car for alot of the same reasons the Mini is but to me the X1 is just a bit more comfortable and smoother. Minis are fun wee cars when you put them in sport mode and go for a blast

E36 motorsport kit front is pretty average could do with a repaint. Rear has some scratches and diffuser has been hacked for towbar but can't see how bad it is behind the towbar. Sides are very good $400 E36 front Alpina lip fits standard bumper. Bumper needs slight modification to fit. Not sure what these are worth so $400ono?

Can be done with the engine as we (Christchurch BMW) have done it but it is easier with it out.
-
There's a tool which allows you to do it without removing the engine but it's a very tight fit. The correct BMW way is to remove the heads and do the guides as well but it's become pretty standard to do just the seals with it all in place
