Oh for crying out loudI quote.... Does that not sound like a deal is done?
-
Thats fair enough then. Like I said I wasnt meaning it in a bad way, its just that I read it as being a done deal with a price agreed although subject to the buyer getting an inspection thats all.
-
I can put water in it and it doesnt have a charge indicator
-
It says DIN85ZL but doesnt mention calcium on it anywhere. But does clearly state that its a lead battery.
-
I mean this is the best way possible and its obviously your decision to make here, but if I had a deal with someone to by their car, albeit subject to inspection, and I found out they were willing to sell the car for only a grand more I wouldnt be very happy.
-
That would save me clambering into the back ! It written on the side that its a lead battery. I was told I could do it with a regular battery charger from Repco.
-
Think Ive found it already. Get into the boot open the two side panels, open the tool kit panel and pull the two plugs and it should be released. Sorted
-
So Ive finally got around the charging the battery today but before I thought about it I shut the tailgate after removing the battery. Now I cant open it again To save me having to get over the back seats to put the battery back in again does anyone know if it can be opened from the outside ? The tailgate has the soft close function so Im assuming not.

If you see anything and can let me know that would be great. Im not really interested in any of the other front spoilers though. Cheers
-
How about and Alpina front spoiler for an e39 ?
-
Only to have someone else snap it up because your too busy thinking your the only one interested in the car.Personally I think its a great idea.

G, how much do you want to pay? Is there a reason why your not going via ebay? [edit] Ive just had a quick look and you can get the fronts for 12 quid and the sides for a tenner. Chuck in 5 quid for postage and at todays rates your looking at around $75 for both rather than the $70 to eurolights just for the sides. I dont know whey people dont use ebay more often. [edit 2] In fact Gus could probably pick them up from Halfords for those prices and send them over to save you a little but more if you need to !

Bingo Simon, its a dog thats got half a body kit and some 18' wheels. Apex, NZ new counts for little when there are so many around to choose from, its got no more toys than dozens of other e39s available and more than decent M5's are currently going for under 40k. Oh and if it had a 6 speed manual it still wouldnt be worth more than half of what he's asking.
-
Visit My Website You can get an M5 for not much more !
-
You could also call it clever After all isnt that what all people who wreck cars do ? They certainly dont do it for the fun of it.

I can only find two solutions Im afraid. The guys in the UK have all left it 'as-is' so it flashes every once in a while. Cant think why they havent bothered to find a solution but they say its usually with the cheaper LED rings and not the CCFL's. I dont know which ones youve got.The second solution (from the US) is to do exactly what youve suggested. However they are all using the rear fog lamp switch from a euro car as the US models dont have rear fogs. Sorry there wasnt anything better. Im pretty sure that Ive seen someone mention about Jochen software being able to do it, but I cant find it now.
-
Ive read before on a forum that Jochens software has the option to cancel the 'bulb monitoring' which would solve the problem but would stop the car from telling you if anything else was out. Ill check with a few of the guys in the UK who have done this to find out what they did and let you know if I get anything useful.

Still needing to sell the touring
-
I used to be, what can you do about a container from the UK for those of us who want to get a whole load of parts out here
-
Have you ever tried pushing one of the small ones with the tiny wheels over the streets of New Zealand ? Honestly there is very little choice in NZ, we spent weeks trying to find something that would work for us and in the end the mountain buggy was the only one that doensnt fall apart at the first bumpSorry Adrian, didnt mean to turn your thread into a discussion about push chairs

Two kids are easy but three is a nightmare. The issue that I found with sedans was that the rear seats are really only suited for two individuals in them. The center 'seat' is often raised from the back of the seat making it difficult to fit more than two kids seats in. The touring seats are very much flatter, certainly in an e39 anyway. You put a 'smaller' child in one of the seat sides and they just disappear into it meaning they have to be in a car seat. Rear folding seats in a sedan are much flatter and more suited but you dont see many about. Plenty of people I spoke to asking if the rear seats folded done didnt even know it was an option. Also the seat belts buckle in the middle and its incredibly difficult to reach over a seat and plug them in. At the moment my 8 year old doesnt need a car seat but we have a booster for the 5 year old and a forward facing seat for the 16 month old and thats a squeeze in the touring but impossible in a sedan. Also have you ever tried to get a mountain buggy in the boot of a sedan, those things are huge and its not easy whereas I just pop the boot of the touring and pull it out with no hassle at all.

Thanks for all your offers fellas, but the pr1ck has removed the auction complaining that no-one was bidding on it. Seeing as there were still three days to go its hardly a surprise. The search continues
