  1. Jap?? Bootlid aint. Rego shows car as 2000 & also 1/00 as first rego in NZ Can't see whether it reads JPN below K/PH in cluster for Japan - possibly ECE for Euro? -don't know if that is normal for Euro - NZ new owners will know that one
  2. Could be the viscous fan or water pump - need to confirm where it is loose. If the 32mm fan nut doesn't move with the fan movement then it is the viscous unit. If the whole shaft/fan moves as one (as you suggest) then it is the pump.
  3. Yep, always warn - unless someone is being a complete idiot
  4. It should have the cradle that slips over the radio. Secure the cradle in the aperture & slide in the radio - simple!
  5. Have a great Xmas/new year one & all. Play safe & be carefull out there We want everyone back in the new year safe & well

    New Z4

Yep, have to say I like it - personally more than the last model
  7. HB Russell, Cheers for the other day!
  8. Ditto! I am one & can assure you it being a a lot easier & cheaper to get it correctly diagnosed - a 5 min job for us
  9. From the usual totally biased perspective - 330i any time - no disrespect to the tezza but not in the same league - just look at them both:- Agreed with all said already - get it proffesionally checked etc or maybe consider a lower milage one. On the "people discouraging" issue - these cars always attract negative vibes from those that know no better about them. Drive one & you'll be converted! BMW one way or another- Do It!!
  10. 32mm spanner (or 1.1/4"), L/H thread Give the spanner a "twack" with a hammer to break it loose DONT forget - its L/H thread
  11. Bloody nice E39 - looks great (although I am biased) Good on you! I see it's Jap origin, what milage, any service history? Assuming good to start with - make sure you maintain as required & it should serve you well. I assume it has TV/Jap nav? - If so - can be converted to work in NZ. I have done many Welcome to the site
  12. Cheers guys. Late answering but been head down bum up & not on here the past couple of days. Yep, another bloody year down -don't like counting now On the racing front - yep itching to get back out there so will see you all in Jan
  13. Did know of a very good guy in Auckland but he's not there any more. Mongoose themselves could likely name good options for you up there. I could do for you but probably easier to get done up there. If already fitted with both alarm & immob (& it has factory remote locking) then hardly worth fitting another - & you have another remote to carry around. It can get confusing too- if the door is locked with alarm remote & unlocked with key remote - you get sirens going off in your ears.
  14. The M60 series Mongoose you have is by far the best of the two. If you are going to have one fitted - make sure it is done by a reputable pro - ANY alarm is only as good as the install & a decent install takes time - so cheap is not best in this case.
  15. Hi, Got all the bits to convert. PM me on options if you wish
  16. Will be genuine only - that price doesn't sound too bad. Barrel itself wont need coding. Maybe a good locksmith can do something with your one??
  17. I recommend Cambridge Transmissions (in Cambridge of course) Great to deal with & from experience much better than others. Don't know about Tauranga though
  18. Quite probably intermittent sticking relay contacts - relay K8 in fusebox

    Obama Wins!!

Yep, good on him!! Listen to him speak compared to the present muppet - no comparison. As said - he will be marked, will need good protection. Some supremesist idiot will no doubt try to get him
  20. Steering wheel, LHS dash, all doors, A pillar each side then facelift added rear side curtain. Not sure on NZ new cars though
  21. E39's had 8 up to 00 facelift when they gained two more- being rear side curtain
  22. Conversion of Jap nav in the E60 has been researched & confirmed that although the hardware can be changed there are serious issues with programming the car from Jap mode - these cars are very much Jap specific with the electronics in them. Jochen has researched this in subject in depth. I am aware of one having been done but at a cost due to the loss of other functions (TV & service functions) along with other modules dropping out of sinc. So in essence - if able to completely reconfigue the vehicle to Euro spec then yes but at this stage - unknown
  23. Bet you don't & probably wont have to either. The hole in the pipe was literally in the middle of the LHS tank cavity with nothing around it to have caused it. Must admit - it had me stumped for a while - wasn't until in frustration - I had drained & removed the tank that I was able to see the problem.
