  1. yeah i was gonna get down there with some black spraypaint to cover up thoes screws, and i couldnt find any hinges that open from underneath so was a bit bummed about that. do you mean the rear seats? they block alot of noise and at the moment i just drop them down, but i have somthing in the cards for them, so i can leave them up and still get enough noise through them, just gonna remove some of the metal.
  2. the e36s have sound deadning material all through it so no need really, behind the wall with the amp and capicatator runs 2 900 watt subs facing the driver so not much sound in the boot anyway. as for the underside of the boot lid, i spose it would be posible, a little bit harder, you would have to take off the tool box and get a nice mould of the area, probably be easyer to use fibre glass in this instance, would look quite cool thoe, wish i had thought of that before, cant put the ///M up there now do somthing a bit different with that
  3. i agree with jpp, go for it just be prepared to change the bulbs more frequently.
  4. E36 M3, definetly, or failing that any E36 manual if money wasnt an option, my hopefully soon to be done( in about 10 years) e36 with a great big whopping 350 chev sticking out of the bonnet. thats what i wanna do to mine, but pay of debt first then start working on it, maybe finished in 10 years lol Edit: spose thats not a daily driver ^ just a weekend car
  5. no they should be fine, if they fit theyll work just fine, just like you can put 100watt bulbs in place of 60 watt bulbs in your normal household light socket, just means there gonna be brighter i put artic blue lights in mine, didnt even check the wattage but they work fine, blew out within 6 months thoe and had to replace with new ones but no damage to car.
  6. you need to reset your service lights there 320SHKBTE easily done http://www.unofficialbmw.com/e36/electrica...ice_lights.html
  7. are you talking about changing the entire headlight of just the bulbs? just get ya bulbs from repco, they got a big enough range with some lights costing up to $50 each, depends what you want, i got the bluish tinge lights in mine, looks nice and lights up the road quite nicely cost me $25 per bulb, but theres better ones.
  8. well if it aint fuses then the next thing it could be is that you might have burnt out some wires, it wont be much fun trying to find em.
  9. yeah i got some shots of installation, but it was pretty straight foward all 6mm MDF so not to heavy it dont weigh down the car to much so doesnt matter about shocks and springs, and i still got the spare! would of been easyer to get rid of it but i worked around it, cuz being stuck on the side of the road with a flat tyre sucks. ill post some more pics when i finish the sides, im gonna do some drawers in the sides for tools and what not, i like to carry alot of tools
  10. yeah i gotta do the side bits, which ill try get onto soon, and cover the ends of the capacitor, you wont see any wire when im done
  11. ive been working on this for a few months and had the design in my head for fricken ages, just finished yesterday, it aint perfect but its my first attempt at this sort of thing, i still got to do the sides to it but thats in the baby processes of design, so whats do you guys think? and at night: it lights up quite bright, hard to get a good shot.

  18. i have a e36 318is manual coupe, and yeah its an import( not from japan)
  19. the thin blue remote wire from your amp you mean? if so that wire is just a 12 volt power source of a very minimum ampage it runs to a relay inside the amp alowwing the real amount of power to run through your big thick cables, so all you need is to tap into a wire that runs 12 volts when the car is turned on, theres plenty of these wires around the car, normally the head unit has one if you have a multimeter check the wires for a 12 volt power souce, or alternatively use a light from one of your rear lights hook up wires to each end, ground one end and start touching wires with the other, when it lights up youve found a 12 volt source, just make sure it turns off with the car, piece of piss really, you can use anywire that turns on with the car, if your in wellington i can help out with any probs.

    my 320i

is that the ford falcon Envi green? looks nice i like it.
  21. no easy way round that, youll have to back track with your multimeter in tow, there will be a short somwhere, if no ones touched anything then it should just be a couple of wires rubbing together somewhere, have fun!
  22. you guys are making me wanna sell my e36 and buy an e30!! ha ha
  23. gotta realise that these guys are a little bit one sided thoe as Gus said hes never owned a e36, most of you on here are e30 owners, the e36 is a great car and a real pleasure to drive, sure i love the e30s, but ya cant deny the comforts of the e36 for everyday driving, e30 for your weekend car
  24. Constant 12V+ - Red Starter - Black/Yellow (black for autos) on - Green Acc - Purple when you put power to each of thoes wires such as tapped from the red wire they should flick into life, hook up relays to thoes with the switch coming off the ground wire. good luck.
