Im saving aswell myself for an s30 resisting temptations of buying goodies for my bmws or buying another car. not until i tick off the s30 . where are you buying it? been trolling around japan 2nd hands and have asked my friend in japan to look out for one too. damn they still expensive there. dont want to touch UK imports as those gonna be falling apart.
  3. you can get one from uk for 1.8k pounds. but has 145k miles. but with the legilsation dont know if you can import it
  4. in my area. there is no more free inorganic day. need to pay in advance 30 bucks to get it picked up and can only have up to a max of 1m3 of rubbish... which i dont even know how big and what could fit in it. a small trailer load?
  5. Welcome. most of the people here loves to tinker with their cars so you will find useful insights into problems you may come across and we do have some professionals here as well.
  6. the $400 rule will still apply. anything above the cost of $400 you will still pay GST even if it is second hand. as well as other import duties.
  7. dont you pay GST on that too? as well as import duties and levies etc...
  8. on my e38 im on 260k nothing wrong apart from leaking thermostat housing which im going to replace this weekend my e36 286k has had radiator plastic cracking, sensors giving out, thermostat housing blow up, fan clutch replaced, valve cover gasket leak, windshield cowling replaced, control arms replaced, original battery died 2 years ago, driver chair back rest welding sheared off, gone through 2 alternators. hmm thats it

    BMW i8

not really liking the side view of it... love the front though. the side reminds me of the cars in the movie demolition man. rather have this: <-- this is a car!! that i8 looks like a matchbox toy lol
  10. yeah what i was trying to say is if they did go to 4 cylinder turbo hybrids. that's just in honda's back yard.
  11. jenson button and most f1 drivers wants the v10 back vettel wants the v12 read somewhere that in 2013 they are going for 4 cylinder turbos for f1?? wtf is up with that?? honda gonna eat that up hahaha
  12. lets just say i wont be embarrased driving this around as i would with other hondas they also have that HSV 10 car they are currently racing in the Japan GT. v10 powered FR. didnt go into production due to recession. but 'MAY' come out after the new NSX
  13. quite like it as well it does look like a r8 and an aston at the back... so did the 240z to many other cars in its time especially the E type. kinda looks like a car that would transform into a robot its going to be a cornering monster like the gtr
  14. new NSX in the making estimated production in about 2 - 3 years. 4WD 3 electric motors 1 for rear wheels, 1 for front wheels -> and both control yaw in cornering and 1 more power assist for the gearbox midship v6 7 speed dual clutch gearbox current design still under refinement Visit My Website been following this for a while. the new nsx was supposed to be v10 powered but that design got cancelled due to recession.
  15. have taken apart my head lights on my e38 to clean the 'cataracs' yellowing. they are attached on by 4 clips IIRC. 2 top 2 bottom. and sealed with rubber gasket. i used fine grit paint rubbing compound on it and a lot of elbow grease. turned out good. put it al lback together and has been a year now and no leaks or signs of cataracs coming back. just dont snap the clips. use a flat head screw driver and a towel so you dont scratch or crack the glass when you take it off and take a picture of the headlight before you taken it off ( for putting back on reference)
  16. also would consider safety. especially if its your sister driving it. even for daily driving, braking, steering and cornering will most likely be affected. a hovering / bouncing car in the motorway is really no fun - have driven one before. i say dont do it. go to a wrecker and get the right springs. a stiffer suspension is better than a sloppy bouncing one.
  17. so these are for old vintage cars without ecus? carbs? COOL!!.. found the manual as well.. here i come classic project
  18. can't you bring the e30 m3 here under special interest cars?
  19. lol... that picture... he bought the car first then what ever was left over for the house
  20. hahahaha OMFG !! 7:47 LOOL!!!

    Quick Questions

trying to diagnose my friend's 325i e36. it boggs down and loses power going uphill. its not misfiring going up hill just wont get the power and to rev up past 2.5k. but on the flat, and downhills no problem getting power and revs to go up. anyone have any idea on the cause?

    Bmw 2002 for sale?

in my honest opinion. you should charge a bit more for it. it is indeed a nice piece of work. give yourself a bit more cash to fund the next project. this car is quite rare to come up for sale (even the rust bucket ones) and your one is in good knick as well and the awesome work you have put on it. btw where is your build thread for this?
  23. it can be a few things. i would say 1. waterpump on its way out 2. you got air bubbles in your cooling system 3. the viscous fan clutch (but that should overheat only when on your standstill not running in the motorway) 4. probably the thermostat 5. you got a blockage somewhere. when was the last time your cooling had service? if i was you i would flush the system, change thermostat and waterpump while im at it and bleed system properly. if it still happens ill change the fan clutch.
