  1. Pretty sexy stock standard auto 320! Bet he pulls the sexy babies in that!
  2. Hey there Ivan, Firstly welcome to the site. Post up some pictures of your 728. We love pictures around here! We are lucky enough to have HELLBM and Ray as a forum sponsor. http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....showtopic=10946 Give Ray a call and see if he has one in stock. Unfortunately its not a very common part to find. But you never know. Otherwise the likes of Euro parts connection might have one but there you'll pay and arm and a leg. To check out part numbers for anything on you car head over to realoem.com. Great site. Cheers
  3. It's been sitting in Tradin' Post's lot for the last week or two. Have been meaning to drop in and check it out but haven't had the time. It didn't look as bad in person to be honest. I didn't notice the spoiler when driving past, and also that 'growth' on the bottom of the front bumper looks stupid IMO. Also it need new wheels.
  4. Thats pretty cool! It doesn't have a phone in it though, and for the highest spec it is similarly priced to the highest spec iPhone here in NZ. Pretty expensive PDA I would have thought. But I think its Badass. Would have one in a heartbeat.
  5. Ron is correct as far I know. I was just checking out my policy yesterday, can't remember why and yes the car is insured not the driver. Here is a quote from my policy, yours may differ if you're with another insurer.
  6. Saw an awesome chap today waving at me in a Green toyota hatchback, atleast I thought he was waving at me! Couldn't place his face straight away so sorry mate (Wasn't in a bimmer! Thats my excuse!)
  7. Its cause we love you Simon! Nobody pulls off the tecknopuurple as well as you..
  8. Awesome! Thanks for the congrats guys.
  9. Haha sorry mate! I can't believe it hasn't been posted before. Easily the best one out there. Set it up in the picture to see the measurements for my future 18x9.5 Style 5's! One day.
  10. Cheers Glenn. Great to hear your not leaving, that would be perhaps the biggest loss possible on the forums. I'm glad my post was useful and I hope some people listen to that advice.
  11. In my years of searching the internet I have not come across such a good Wheel size calculator as this. HERE It is very simple to use, it explains absolutely everything about the fitment. It even compares the old fitment (OEM or not) to the new fitment in detail. The picture below is just a screen cap and example of what it can do and the info you can get.
  12. Love this car! Awesome work man!
  13. None of my post is aimed at anyone in particular. I think the problem is people have to learn to bite their tongue a little more. You don't have to post in every bloody thread. Its actually nice to take a step back and stay out of the chaos. Which I have enjoyed doing lately. I genuinely hope Glenn doesn't decide to leave the site. He is one of the few gentlemen on here that I value my friendship with highly. As others have said he is the most knowledgeable person on this site. Glenn has helped me out more times than I can count and I feel like I'm being a pain calling him every month or so asking for advise or help. He is always willing to help and I have huge respect for Glenn. Please don't leave mate. One comment that stood out to me earlier in the thread was something to this effect, Why should someone earn someone else's respect when asking about a problem. Its pretty simple I would have thought? You're asking for other peoples help. You're asking for their time to explain it. You're asking to tap into someone else's knowledge. In exchange people (Or at least professional, mature people) expect some level of maturity, proper grammar, and the posters willingness to help themselves. When the Original poster lacks essential details and doesn't show at least a little bit of respect etc they lose the helpers interest and I completely admit I am like that. I have no interest in helping some knob who logs on under 'e30s_are_da_bomb' and asks 'my car doesn't start, whats wrong?' Grow up. I don't care what you say, when you interact with people you show respect. Obviously that respect can either be gained or lost very fast with how you come off to the person. Act mature. It's not hard. Its honestly like some of you come on here trying to pick fights. Before anyone bags the moderators anymore think about it. They have signed up to moderate the content on the board. They're not like you or me who don't really give a sh*t whats posted. They're their to keep the content up to a decent level. Imagine if you had to do that and nearly every thread had to be censored because of some guy who wants to enlarge his e-cock, you'd be a bit cranky. Back to the original point, I'm getting tired of it. I don't log on as often because it seems every time I log on there's a thread with arguing and stupid comments in it. It gets tiring and its funny because those who usually initiate the stupid comments are the ones who don't make it to any meets or show their face anywhere. This is a community of BMW enthusiasts. Or at least that's what I use to think. Just think, next time you log on don't post in the first thread you open with a comment that could be taken slightly wrong. Easy as that. Be the bigger man if you want to call it that. Lets try and get the quality of Bimmersport back to what it was like a year or two ago. My rant over. I'm out.
  14. There was a similar guy to yourself asking this a while ago. Total he thought the guy said $450 each. Mate, The guy must mean $650 all up. Paying more than $200 a wheel and you're getting ripped off. Unless the guy is trying to take advantage of a M3 owner, that price per wheel is completely crazy.
  15. One other problem I noticed. While braking from 50k to a stop at the lights I noticed a sort of ticking coming from behind the dash. Sitting at the lights with my foot on the brake and it continued, tick .... tick .... tick. About 3 or 4 seconds between each. Continuously. Take your foot of the brake and put the handbrake on and it goes away. Also paint flaking slightly and a bit of surface rust on the right hand front fender. Got a picture.
  16. She's a champ she is. And what a looker. Checked it out this morning. Perfect timing as it was nice and cold. Looks pretty straight apart from a few light scratches. I'm pretty sure I didn't even see one shopping trolley dent anywhere. It does however have a crack on the rear bumper and a few deeper scratches and a pretty deep scratch along the side of the front bumper (Got pictures for Jeffery). The Style 5's are amazing They aren't too badly curbed but could do with a re-furb in the future. They do need a good clean tho. Not staggered either Does smoke slightly on cold start up. Not huge puffs only a light stream. As brent said, PCV valve and it should be sweet. It sounds pretty sweet, that V8 burble makes you shiver. Revving it, sounds sweet. Didn't notice any rattles in the engine. The shimmy at 80-90km is very noticable while accelerating or braking. At one point is was shaking the whole car and it was pretty freaky. First time I had driven a E34 with the shimmy. However its a relatively easy problem to fix, thrust arm bearings. The brakes feel nice and strong. Stopped very well from 100km. The bonnet does need a respray. The seller hasn't mentioned but the rear bumper is in similar condition so that could do with a respray. Paint over the rest of the car looks almost mint with a good polish on it. (Few light scratches). Now, performance. It doesn't have a jerk between 1, 2 or 3 at all on cold start up. You do get little bumps when changing between neutral and drive. Suspect a tranny flush would fix that. The sport mode of the transmission lives up to its name. Stick it in sport, drops down a gear, floor it drops down another one or two and it fly's over 3.5 - 4k. The speedo just keeps going up and up, classic V8. However under 3.5 -4k its pretty average. My 323 has more get up and go till about 4k. Doesn't have traction control (found that out pretty quickly!), floored it at the lights in drive with sport mode, and sh*t it bites. Not the best test for a wet morning thank god there weren't any cops around! So, its a beautiful cruiser. It does have power, the sport mode is great. How you drive it around town though the normal drive mode is more than adequate. No jerks between gears. Not many rattles in the interior. All electric's work afaik. Air con doesn't as he mentioned in the auction. It blows but not at your set temperature. He thinks it just needs to be re gassed. Leather seats a little tired, could do with a good condition and recolour in some places but more the fine for daily use. I purposely went into a petrol station and over drive ways and the front shocks sounded a bit loose. They might need replacing in the future. Steering felt alright. Not as tight as I would expect but in corners it felt nice. It does need a good clean. Bit of dirt and grime under the bonnet etc. But overall it looks like a pretty good buy for sub 3K. Think that's everything mate. Any questions PM me and PM me your email so I can send you my photos.
  17. Happy to help, I'll give him a call this afternoon. Damn those Style 5's are amazing.
  18. Not E34 but Petrol Mica goodness! Very rare on E34, even rarer than it on E39 or E46.
  19. Jon, that almost sounds exactly the type of rattle I had on my E36. Only came around the 2-3rpm range, high pitched tinny rattle. Turned out to be the exhaust hangar bracket. The one off the bottom of the gearbox (From memory). Would suggest you check out all the exhaust brackets and then progress from there. Cheers
  20. Thats great! Those road signs are pretty ruthless.
