I never killed the small case diff in the turbo (280hp) I never even killed one in the racecar, I was suprised how much they can take. I imagine with the torque of this monster the splines would round off the halfshafts (like Glenn had)

Just a couple months ago (5 months to be exact), Motor Trend called the 2009 BMW X6 “pointless.” Well it seems like they had a change of heart and have made the X6 a contender for their 2009 SUV of the Year award. Back in May, Motor Trend “wondered whether deep down the BMW engineers, car guys all, thought the X6 a waste of their talent.” The magazine wrote: ”You see, good as it is, the X6 is still a truck. A perfectly pointless truck.” Well it doesn’t seem so pointless anymore. We’ll find out exactly what Motor Trend thinks of the X6 when they announced the winner on Oct 16th. Market wise it was a no brainer for BMW; so whether you like it or not, 2010 will mark the year for compact SUVs from BMW. That’s right - a production X1 and Mini Crossover will go on sale in 2010. According to CEO Norber Reithofer, BMW cancelled old product plans like the X7 since they would not have generated enough growth for the brand through 2013. Reithofer said that both the X1 and MINI Crossman will be volume sellers rather than niche cars like the X6 appealing to few individuals. The BMW X1 is also rumored to get a hybrid variant by late 2010. Live from Paris 2008: BMW Concept X1:

After a little leak last night, BMW has officially released all the images and details on the BMW Concept X1, a new SAV that will go into production next year focusing on the same youth, fun and compact character of the BMW 1-Series. With an architecture borrowed from the E90 3-Series, the production BMW X1 is expected to be powered by a range of four and six-cylinder engines with turbochargers and direct-injection technology. Production will take place at BMW’s Leipzig plant in Germany with 100,000 units planned annually. We’ll have more details when BMW holds there press conference at the 2008 Paris Motor Show tomorrow. Black body surrounds made of a special, robust synthetic material highlight the clear orientation towards the wheels. The sturdy, silver-coloured roof railing extends far to the rear, determining the course of the roofline together with the spoiler at the back. • Characteristic rear end with L-shaped rear light clusters ensuring a homogeneous light effect thanks to LED light tubes. Raked to a low angle, the rear window gives the BMW Concept X1 a truly sporting touch, the horizontal lines emphasising the sheer width of the vehicle. • As a special design feature specific to this model, three-dimensional surrounds encompass the headlights and rear light clusters and help to create the special graphics of the side windows.

Well the M5x crank is very not bolt in - I'll leave it at that hah. However car should be making better power than before as we can tune it correctly without the flywheel moving around. Just need to get elec fan, new brakes, oil cooler, power steering back in, redo-MSNZ authority card cert and a spanner check and it's ready to race.

Unless it's 11:1 compression don't bother (basically). They need a lot of head work to run right also. I'm talking from a 3.2 ltr view though.

BMW is worried that the sluggish North American market will hurt the launch of the 2009 BMW 7-Series which arrives in spring 2009. According to BMW’S U.S. CEO Jim O’ Donnell, the collapsing credit market will provide little hope for an increase in sales of the flagship sedan. O’Donnell says the most BMW can expect is to do better than the overall import luxury segment. The United States continues to be the car’s biggest market. Not to mention, pricing of the 2009 BMW 7-Series is expected to rise from the current models which ranges from $77,625 to $125,625. Pricing for the 2009 7-Series will be announced closer to its spring 2009 launch. Yeah, we’re pretty sure that sluggish sales of the ‘09 7-Series will have nothing to do with that back since it’s so beautiful (sarcasm). 2009 BMW 750i:

Oh yeah, the BMW Concept X1 is new, popping, hip and hopping and we’ll stop right there. BMW has released this new trailer for the Concept X1 that will debut at the 2008 Paris Motor Show next week. BMW has already confirmed that the production version of the Concept X1 will arrive on the market in 2010 as a 2011 model year with production to take place at the company’s Leipzig plant in Germany. We’ll get more details from Paris next week.
