On a side note: It has got progressively tidier each owner that has had it - previous owner before me did the body kit. I only sorted mechanical stuff - the car dealer you got it off ripped off mirror tints - painted it etc etc

You seriously do not want to know its history - let alone any of the stuff I did to it Basically the motor is f**ked (you probably know this) - it has the worn out LSD that I killed with my racecar. It got a fine from the police for previous owner (before me) cutting holes in parcel shelf (i'm fairly sure the car dealer who owned it fixed it though). Aside from that the body is straight as - I paid 4.5 for it - sold it for 6.5. I nearly paid 5k to own it again but your dad(?) walked in and bought it before I could buy it back.

Just get gavin to slap a link in (or you could DIY). Racecar has rasied compression from 323 head, lightened everything, gas flow head, custom equal length headers, removed AFM now uses MAP with Link ECU.

OK - Does a 318is box from an E36 work for me? (As in can i keep same driveshaft, clutch etc etc)

Any suggestions on what is wrong with the box also? I would be happy fixing it if it was viable.

How does the M50 box bolt up? (E30 tech suggested this also - I was never aware it bolted to the M4x block) Sam - are you sure the iS didn't get closer ratios - mine deff feels like close top 3 ratios. I want to retain its quite tall gearing - 2nd gear is nice 120 kph @ 7300 rpm.

Questions for thought. - The 318iS seems to have close gear ratios (specifically a very close 3rd, 4th, 5th). Do all M4x 318s have this? Just trying to gauge whether to fix the gearbox. - The car still has the stock dual-mass flywheel. I am now wondering if I should use the M20 flywheel. Which is better [for a turbo car]? - dual or single mass. (The m20 flywheel would also give me more clutch options). - What would you strengthen in a gearbox if doing a rebuild?

The Getrag 240 (Sport) in my turbo is dead. Anyone have any advice on how to take one apart - it feels like some bearings have collapsed and there is a box full of neutrals. It makes a crunching noise when i turn the input shaft my hand. Also - anybody have a Getrag 240 for sale. Thanking you.

I am - then decide i liked the old thing better so buy that back - then want another new one and process repeats. FYI - All popular PC video editing packages are working ok. AVID HD (& sd versions) Prem Pro 2 After Effects 7 3dmax/Maya both OK also. Soundwise protools is working OK also.

OK Observations Stock Vista Intel ® PRO/Wireless 2915ABG WLAN drivers SUCK - don't work properly. Is a revised version on Intels Website. Stock Chipset 915G/M drivers suck. Stock Nvidia drivers SUCK.

Pimp seriously - The networking is MUCH more advanced. Work DHCP server is doing pretty cool things like giving it a FQDN even on a non domain network. Nice. And seriously - how badass is this snippet tool?
