My e28 is soon to be getting a M30B35. As most of you will have seen, I got a donor e34 with a good M30 and manual gearbox that's done 170,000 kms which will be going in. Engine, gearbox etc came out of the e34 over the weekend. Have been collecting parts over the last couple of weeks including Mtech rear spoiler, arches, and parts to repair some damage on the front from getting hit (working with the guy's insurance to sort it). Also just installed AP springs about a week ago. The car as it is now: Some of the damage: I'm pretty rubbish at build threads but I'll do my best to update as I go for those interested. Hoping to have the swap done by the end of April.

Pulled the engine, gearbox and diff out today. Turns out the diff is what appears to be a medium case (8 bolts on rear cover) 3.45 non LSD. Needless to say I'm not happy with the guy who sold me the car.
-
Thanks guys. Have contacted both of you.

I am after an LSD diff for my e28, either medium or large case. So anything from e24, e30 etc that will work (please correct me if this or wrong or if others will fit, I've read Z3 could work). The higher ratio the better, 3.63 or 3.73 ideally, but will look at anything. Otherwise an open large case diff so I can swap the internals from my e34 one. Anyone have anything?

Give the man some credit, that description is pretty good.

Cool. I'll let you know about the driveshaft once I've figured mine out. Send me a PM about the suspension. Will a large case e28/e24 casing not work on my e? I had the impression it would after we spoke.

I'm parting out a 535ise 1989. The car is manual however all mechanical parts including brakes I am keeping for my e28 conversion. H&R lowering springs with Bilstein shocks. Springs for sale, might sell shocks depending on the offer. 3.45 open medium case diff. Wheels are TSW 17x8 with 235/45 Bridgestone Potenzas all round with lots of tread. One center cap is missing. Pretty much zero curbing, only very light grazes on two of them, and hardly that. One of the two is in the photo. $600. SOLD Please ask for price for all other parts (If this is in accordance with forum rules). All engine/drivetrain parts I don't need will be for sale once my e28 is running. Windscreen is cracked and seat fabric is starting to break apart, especially on the rear. Still comfy as though, haha. Parts pickup from Penrose, Auckland. Parts will be available from this weekend.

On my e28 it's pin 11, the black/yellow wire. I just hold one end of wire in the pin and the other end to the battery. Worked every time that the key didn't. You do get some funny looks though, haha.

I have this same issue on my e28 except it doesn't click. I've been told the starter trigger wire when old builds resistance when it's hot and won't trigger the starter. The easiest way to get it going is to use a wire to jump the pin in the diagnostic port for the starter trigger to the battery. Key needs to be on with ignition switched on.

Those are the ones I ordered. Anyway I'll leave this discussion here. Back to your E28 Ben.

I ordered them through ebay, these ones: http://www.ebay.com/itm/361301707619?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I had a quick look but didn't see any cheaper so I just ordered those. Who did you find? I am planning to run them on the shocks I have for now, which are Monroes, I imagine close to factory specs. It's already lowered but the current spring setup is far from ideal, so that's all I'll say about it.

I've been registered on there for years. The problem comes and goes randomly for me.

Do you receive the IP blocked error? That happens to me sometimes, you have to email the admin to unlock your IP.

I've got an AP Suspension kit in my mk2 Golf which I used for both regular street driving and track/drag racing and I'd highly recommend it, especially for the price. I've actually just ordered these springs for my e28 as well. Car looks good BennyBoy, I'll be following your progress.

Will be in contact, thanks.

I've got the B35 and I'm going with that, I am aware of the difference in bolt pattern but from what I've found the easiest option is the get the B34 E28 mounts and then get the adapters. Otherwise I will make fully custom mounts if no one has any.
-
I'm doing a B35 swap into my eta e28 so I believe I need the e28 M30 motor mount brackets. Anyone have some they can sell me? These are the part numbers: Left mount - 11 81 1 175 591 Right mount (rectangle type) - 11 81 1 175 592

That's the one. I was really impressed with the vinyl. I'm very much a paint person but that looks really good.

This car is owned by the guy I bought my e28 off. My friend did the wrap job on it.
