  1. Hahaha. Hey, how often do these come up? You know your car would look good with them.
  2. E28 Mtech arch flares recently resprayed in Polaris Silver. Haven't been mounted since being painted. The paint is not perfect but looks decent unless you are looking for a showroom finish. Was done with PPG single pack paint with a good few coats of clear, sprayed with a gun (not cans). The inner lip has been trimmed off (before paint). $200. Pickup from Panmure or Ardmore, Auckland.
  3. Free E28 carpet and floor mats. Complete set minus the driver's floormat, the car never had one. It is not concourse condition by any means but with a good water blast I think it will come up very well. No rips. Must be picked up from Panmure by Friday or I am throwing it out.

    Good work.
  5. I would try doing it by hand with some lighter compound and one of those foam applicator things. Go slowly and you shouldn't have a problem. Using a machine on parts like that, even painted, is usually asking for trouble unless you are very skilled at it. Or, give a clay bar a shot first. That's probably a better idea actually and won't take the finish off.
  6. If they are painted, why not just go over them with cutting compound like any other painted part?
  7. Sorry, it just sold last night. But if it doesn't go through I will be in contact. Thanks

Unfortunately they are actually a bit too small for me, I'm too tall, so I would consider parting with them if a good enough offer was made.

Just some quick updated photos of the interior.
  10. Mtech 1 steering wheel. Fine spline, bigger diameter version. Leather has some wear period correct patina. Stitching has separated above right spoke but the rest is fine. Overall in decent condition I would say. Look down upon other base model E28/E30 drivers with their peasant spec steering devices while you cruise along with your hands comforted by this ergonomically pleasant, motorsport inspired steering wheel. All for the measly sum of $100. A mere bargain, really. Pickup from Panmure.
  11. Cool man I'll take a set. PM me your details.
  12. How much for shipping to Auckland?

After months of the car sitting and months of me being away, on Sunday I finally managed to find the issue. A factory ground wire where the coil negative (which goes to the ecu, the ecu grounds it to create spark) joins up and splits of to go to the ecu and to the diagnostic connector has a ground wire from factory at the split off, grounding it. So this means the coil is constantly grounded, and was causing a short. I have no idea why it's done like this and how the car was running before, but as soon as we cut the wire the car fired right up. I checked my other wiring harness and it had the same thing. And now with my new ECU, everything is working including the fuel pump relay and ICV. Even fixed the slight miss it had. Drove the car home on Sunday night, yesterday afternoon the v-belt for the waterpump and alternator snapped. Luckily I noticed something was going on and pulled into a side street. Opened the hood to find the snapped belt (which looked to have also flipped beforehand) sitting there. So called up a friend who arranged one to get to me and I changed it then and there. While waiting I took the opportunity to take some new photos. Should have some more updates for this car coming up soon.
  15. From memory pretty much nothing, but I am planning to go out to the car on the weekend so will let you know.
  16. Bump. Hoping to completely part the car within the next few weeks but happy to start selling pretty much any parts except doors (I will be keeping these) trunk lid and parts that are keeping the car rolling for now.
  17. E28 black center console for AC cars. Heater knob fell off the heater panel and I lost it, but otherwise in good condition. Willing to sell top half and bottom half seperate for $50 each otherwise whole thing for $80. No carpet piece on bottom half. Offers considered. Pickup from Panmure which I'd prefer, but shipping can be arranged.
  18. I might be able to help. PM incoming.
  19. Replied but unfortunately can't help, all mine are sold.
  20. Car looks good on those. What did you end up doing for suspension?
