  1. The only thing that is bs is what has been said here. Speaking first hand, I have a 335i and a Autosure Warranty. It paid for itself in the first 3 months after my waterpump gave up. I would say in 2.5 years of ownership the maintenance bill (preventative & non preventative) is sitting at 5k with the warranty picking up approx 50% of the tab. Get the vehicle checked by a reputable BMW workshop and ensure you get a warranty.
  2. Ive just found her sitting in the corner of the garage coated in 3mm of dust and garden tools on the bonnet. Felt guilty so gave her a quick wash. Ol faithful started first pop too!
  3. Rediculous. Im not complaining thou. I have one identical to this sitting round appreciating lol
  4. This is definitely a new benchmark. 17k !!!!! https://trademe.co.nz/1410787481 Anyone on here?
  5. Yep, clearly trying to recoup the costs of the resto. Looks great. Not going to get the asking price but would easily fetch 20-25k if they had of advertised in that price range off the bat. If I pumped that kind of money into something like this id be hanging onto it. Obviously the owner needs to sell. Why does everyone compare every overpriced BMW with an E39 M5!?

  8. Nice work! The big question, how much did you pick it up for?..........

    FS 2003 330i E46

Sorry, I was not trying to offend with my previous post as I for one hate when someone hi jacks/under values a vehicle for sale ad of mine. The car you indicate is an E90 and priced at $13,500 Double your asking price is 16k. World's apart in all aspects.

    FS 2003 330i E46

Nice car but not to burst your bubble these are not an 8k vehicle anymore. If you need to sell relatively quickly you may need to drop your price. A hard pill to swallow but could take a year to sell in the current market if you don't.
  11. Whilst your budget is modest you really shouldn't look past an E39 or E46. Have had both in the last couple of years as a second car. E39 530i MSport & E46 325i. Whilst both were great the E39 was by far my favourite and I wish I still had it. It was NZ New with full service history. Sold for within you budget which I felt at the time was a steal for the now current owner. I have no idea on current pricing of e90's but doubt youre going to get anything > than a 320i if that. I know the temptation is probably there to look for a newer car but you just don't want to go there if that's all your budget allows for. Just my 2c.
  12. Great cars, alot of fun but proceed with these steps. 1/ Get a Pre Purchase inspection done by a reputable BMW workshop 2/ Cut a deal with the seller. 3/ Buy an Autosure warranty 4/ Be prepared for the water pump to go.
  13. Nice! What bilsteins did you go for and what Springs did you pair them with?
  14. Out of interest who did you buy the parts thru?
  15. Wow, very nice! Welcome.
  16. By the car, put a mechanical warranty on it and enjoy it. Speaking from experience, If you worry about all the issues you could possibly be faced with you'll never go near one but I guess that's the case with all high performance BMW's.....

Nice. Fix up the sunroof (can't be that big a job), take some decent photos and get it on TM. You'll get your asking price.
  19. I have 194's on my 335. These look so much better. Nice upgrade.
  20. Is this coming from experience? If so, do you have a photo? Currenlty looking at Bilstein (B8's) paired with H&R sport springs.
  21. Would love to hear if anyone has experience with either of these two shock/spring options. I was about to post the exact same question. Anyone?
  22. You should really be looking at doing an H1 calculation and submit this to the HCC for approval. You'll probably get away with doing the schedule method in this case. Let us know how you get on.
  23. Throw them in Andy. No issues with fire rating. Wall insulation is generally 90mm and have a lower 'R' value than ceiling which is significantly thicker.
  24. 530i Motorsport purchased.
