  1. I sent ALL the details in the PM, but it appers not to have the alarm. Mine flashes the indicators when you lock it, but it has no alarm either. (Of course I coded it to flash them anyway )
  2. If you want to PM me the last 7 digits (2 letters 5 numbers) of your chassis number I can tell you if it was fitted originally. otherwise, go HERE and follow the destructions about OPTIONS and you'll get a full factory list. You can also look under the rear seat - the build sheet should be tucked in there. It's a dotmatrix printout of the same info.
  3. They're really an emissions thing. Dads E30 never had one - it's NZ new, and has NO emissions gear on it. The hose coes up from the engine bay, and curls over than finishes! I would have thought it would have the charcoal cannister - they don't hurt performance, and must be cheap enough! No reason not to connect it really. Unless it becomes a nightmare
  4. Good for you though! I've been known to buy things online to avoid having to go into shops, and probably paid a bit more... I don't go overboard though! Those old headlights of mine are 12 years old, have had the coating polished off the polycarbonate, and are $60 more than the Hella ones I did the group buy for. I'm sorta thinking "Tell 'im 'e's dreamin'" except that someone might actually buy them! A mate of mine paid about $600 for a set of used genuine Xenons, but new xenons are $1800 a pair (complete though!)
  5. There was an E46 320i Touring Motorsport Manual, for less than that. I think it didn't have too much over 110K either. It belongs (now) to the father of a member on here. Now if it was a manual 540i Touring E34, it might be worth that!
  6. 540I Touring $6500 Chch Looks Tidy, 540i tourings don't come along every day! I've got a mate with one and they are pretty awesome.
  7. This guy brought my old E39 Angel Eyes headlights. Now he's trying to sell the used ones he's polished up (which won't last as the protective coating is gone) for MORE than I paid for the brand new ones! I'm always surprised at how many things sell used on trademe for more than brand new stuff!
  8. You know what scarier though? The price has dropped $4K! Now it just needs the 1 taken off the beginning and it's an OK price

    My E46 build

They'll probably want to sell something one day. It'll probably cost the earth. Some people want it both ways... Sell your car for whatever you like. It'll either sell or i won't. Either way, what should anyone else care???

    Free Beer

Nah, it means they don't care what sh*t answers you give I got mine. We'll have the market cornered - they'll soon know which one BMW drivers prefer. Anyway... youCANNOT beat Hoegaarden White! Full stop
  11. My Mrs cousin drives Ferraris (recently cancelled his order for a new FF, as he's moving to Ireland!). First service on his "old" Modena Spyder was about NZ$5500. Oil cahnge and valve adjustment basically! Engine has to be lowered to do it mind you. Clutches were about NZ$10-12K from memory and usually didn't last long... 20 - 30K. So the M5 is probably a bargain, service wise, in comparison!

    Quick Questions

E39 central locking... I tried Google but didn't get a definate answer! Should I be able to lock/unlock my entire E39 525i (facelift) from the boot lock??? I can't, and I want to! Dads E30 does it. Is it able to be coded or something???
  13. Haha... I got one from the IT department junk pile. Had to put a new hard drive in it, so have cost me $85 1.6Ghz full on business laptop. Ancient, but very good Compaq NC8000. I'm keeping it though! I have a USB cable to connect to my OBCII E39, but there is an adapter to plug into the round port. I got it off Ebay from Cable-Shack about NZ$70??? comes with INPS, EDIABIS, NCS Expert, TIS, etc etc etc. Would work with a modern/cheap laptop then
  14. I fitted new front shocks to the E39 (sachs OEM - has factory fitted motorsport suspension) and a 10mm alloy spacer on the new strut mounts to lift the front a touch and stiffen the strut towers, as they had mushroomed up from the impacts of big bumps. Grabbed one of those Ultra-racing strut braces to help with the reinforcement (looked sh*t in white though, so sprayed in with stoneguard - satin textured black like the engine plastics) Made a HUGE difference to the handling. One front bumpstop was GONE, the other may as well have not been there. The old shocks were totally rooted - I could compress them in a fraction of a second, whereas the new ones took quite a while to push in, and needed a lot more force. It's so nice to drive now, had quite a long test drive afterwards. Nothing fell off might have to do the rears soon feel ok, but I'll raise it about 10mm too, so may as well do the shocks while i'm in there!
  15. I'd rather have refrigerated seats and steering wheel! So friggin' hot in the arvo's at the moment!
  16. Hmmm buy now is $71500..... that's a LOT more than the starting bid! Very nice car, I love Jeremy Clarksons review on Top Gear... Most annoying car in the world... (presses M button)... BEST car in the world! It's come in from the UK. Liisted as manual, but only 2 pedals. 3 pedals are just so much betterer.
  17. The coils are SOOOO cheap too! Jap ones usually cost way more!
  18. I've never had any problems with Paul at Milland, or his parts. Have probably spent $2500 in the last 2 years (on dads E30 and our E39). I don't think he sells any crap stuff (some places do!)

    For Sale

Looks a very nice car, and odometer stopped not too long ago :-)
  20. Saw Shuey in the M3 this morning... Maunu road/Water street. Very nice - love the sound of the 3.2. I was incognito though.
  21. Is it worse than smoking???
  22. Rovers don't give me wood.
  23. Sorry - I was only able to do the E39's as a group buy deal. A local Hella stcokist should be able to price them for you.
