Shouldn't someone have made a dizzy cap comment already?

E30, E36, E46 320i's were amongst the hungriest of their lineups, but without the power of the bigger engines. Has that improved?

Do you mean the rubber intake pipe? That's splits? They cheap new, and a used one is a gamble anyway. Motorsport front shocks aren't cheap new but used ones are probably half buggered too.... not sure if you can fit sport ones with standard springs either???
-
The "Hirepool" ones have been pretty good for me - I used one behind my old VW van to collect a Beetle from up north. Was comfy at 100K most of the way and didn't seem stupid heavy.

Yep... Deffo looks better than the E65!

Thats only the peak. Not the curve.

M54 thermostat and housing are one piece. They fail often - buy a new one.

Not a sport then, with Contour front seats? I didn't get a text, so suppose not!

Long term??? you mean loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong term..... ...... Like all my stuff!

Headlight Restoration deal on Treatme

Or just get them recoated: http://www.clearlight.co.nz/ was under $200 for a pair of E39 lights a while back. -
Ahmedsinc: The M54 has a variable length manifold, to counter the phenomenon Ron is talking about, so I assume there is no point in using the M54 manifold, unless you are going to use the variable part (DISA Valve). At low RPM, the intake charge has to follow a long, single path to the cylinder - this keeps the air velocity up, and gets more of it into the cylinder (it's also tuned length, so the pressure wave created by a closing valve helps fill the next cylinder). At higher RPM (amongst other factors) the ECU opens the direct (short, dual) path and allows more flow, with less restriction, using all available paths to cylinders. It really does have a massive effect (along with the other M54 torque increasing tech). It wouldn't surprise me if my M54B25 would "out torque" an M52B28.

That's practically what I said I'm putting E23 Calipers on my VW Bus, with Mercedes S class rotors

there are parts on a 944 I can bolt onto Beetles, Golfs, etc ... it's only just barely Porsche. Actually... I have a 944S steering wheel on my 84 VW bus The 914 uses the same "Type 4" engine originally used in the 411 and 412 VW's. and then made it's way into the Busses (Kombis) in the 70's, in 1.7, 1.8 and 2.0 sizes. The 914 has a touch more power though... especially if you opted for the 6 cylinder version . My understanding was it was a "joint" venture between VW and Porsche.

I had Hare casserole a few weeks back... as part of a $45 Wild Venison main seemed weird, but was stunning - Yum! If we have the Rabbit Pizza up here, I'll talk my wife into it for Wednesday night dinner

Ours came from Pak n Save. I thought they were every where... look in laundry

A land cruiser is a bit different... though not cutting egde seemingly anything 3.0 or less is unremarkable at best

I got passed by one on the way home up a steep hill - it was tapped out though... and the electric assist on my bike had stopped because someone forgot to charge it up. Otherwise I'm not convinced he'd have taken me. my bother in law has a Terrano with the same engine. I wouldn't drive it ANYWHERE I used half a tank of gas dribing it home once, because it doesn't need a throttle, it just needs a switch. When you aren't braking, it needs to be al full power. Nothing in between does anything. Father in laws diesel turbo camry was the same - My Mrs pulled out into traffic in it, and decided to stop in the median strip, because she was scared of how slow it was. Sorry Blue, but Toyota make sh*t diesels - even the new ones!

Exhaust grade stainless does get some rust on. I can weld weld it, and I can't weld to save myself! Fancy/shiney stainless is harder, but it's too brittle for a long lasting exhaust. Dad's E30 exhaust is still it's original stainless system = has light rust marks here and there, but solid as a rock. Pretty impressive for a 24 year old car - not too many jappas out there with their original aluminised steel ones left.

They're too "Old-man-ish"! Can't much argue against that, but they are a very well balanced looking car. She thinks Prius's are butt-ugly, so she clearly DOES have some idea
-
Shame... my Mrs thinks they're ugly... plus I'd have to pay for the bits for a manual conversion And a better than stock driveshaft:
-
Hmmm... the engine maybe (maybe - they had a number of them replaced under warranty)... but the rest of the tractor will have bits falling of before you know it )

I want that base for my sedan! I thought it was going to have a rear mounted third row... like a Vulvo. Then I would have just brought it - Wifey likes the wheels (same as ours!)
