's not manual though 525i is same power as a 328i, slightly less torque, though a better curve, and only about 60 kg heavier

You're Weird. Like the rest of us.

Haha... maintained... I brought it for 7 and have probably spent at least 1/2 that on it since... has had almost all the (M-tech) suspension done (not rear shocks, or front balljoints), Vanos seals, common oil leaks, new (genuine!) xenon headlights, ignition switch, waterpump, thermostat, belts and tensioners, obc and instrument cluster pixels repaired, Disa valve ok, I could go on... I have to make things "right"... I guess I'm a bit OCD... Your place sounds a bit dodgy..... I seriously think she'd kill me though. She's only just gotten used to it! He parked his car just along the road from me last week... http://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/47461-1992-318is-cheap-track-parts-car/

Just got it back from Dad today (It's Sunday again too ) -
I have absolutely NOTHING to do with telecom for those reasons. It took them 6 weeks to tell me they couldn't connect my new house, because of a fault down the road. 12months later, our friends built down the road..... they were told they couldn't be connected because there is a fault down the road. The guys who came to look at mine NEVER told me they were coming, or called first as required. I now have an entirely wireless connection - both phone and internet - the cables aren't even hooked up to my house, because Telecom couldn't find them (That's why there were supposed to call first, so I could show them). Also - you may not have used your cap at all - One mate of mine NEVER uses his, but often went onto dial up speed. When he looked at his usage, it had jumped up in one day. He queried and complained multiple times, They denied it for several days, then reset his cap. The connection speed was so crap, that he couldn't even use the amount of data in a day that they said he did! Again and again it happened. It took hours to sort each time (but he always made them give something for free!). He's no longer with them, and his speeds are far faster now too. Another mate has a basic plan, and when his internet is used up, it DOESN'T slow down They keep offering him bigger plans, because he "goes onto dialup speeds" every month. He just tells them he's fine with that

Haha! No... Maybe was my father - he said something about it... though I think he came later on - while the cop was there, parked in the drive on the corner? Seems the cops got there faster than when my house was broken into earlier in December... At least they did a good job when they DID get here though. It's pretty rugged down over that bank - the last car I saw pulled out required a salvage truck, and the back end was bent up a long way! It's a complex corner with the start of decent, changing camber and tightening radius. There's about 4 spots where I regularly see cars parked in the weeds (often 4WD/SUV's) - where you went, and a few spots on Whareora Road (the straighter bit!), where the bumps just before or after the corners seems to upset them. Seen a couple of Pajeros and Hiluxs wrong way up, and the same Telstar V6 XRi in a paddock... twice

Well... that saves me having to arrange getting them. Mrs actually said yes though!

Are you in Whangarei? If those marks just near my house (by the Caves) are yours along with the crushed vegetation... you certainly aren't the first to do it...

You can have ours... it's so humid its making everything sticky... it rianed a few hours ago for about 5 minutes, then it's gone back to freakin hot - 26.9 in the house. luckily there is a small breeze. I haven't had the E39 since just beforfe Christmas - Dad has it waiting wheile waiting for the WOF place to open again. -
Yup - VERY high up - higher than a lot of modern 4x4's... and it's lowered 30 mm It's also why it looks like I'm tailgating the entire time edit: the 1984 van, not the 2013 work one

I have a video of a cop at the end of a passing lane north of Whangarei; All the traffic suddenly had to halve their speed, because some retard saw the cop and slammed on the anchors. Cop isn't even looking at the traffic (just his radar), OR the 25 or so cars piled up behind a camper van. I honked on the way past he didn't care - NO REVENUE INVOLVED. No-one even bother passing, because (as normal) the campers accelerated on the straight passing lane, and most of the cars heading the otherway had been flashing their lights to warn of the tax collector parked up the end. Luckily the "Bus" has enough poke, as the number of Previas and Serenas doing 80 on the straights and 105 on the passing lanes was immense. I passed them anyway. Shame the cop wasn't moving them on, or pulling over the centreline crossers who I'd bet cause more accidents than speeders. http://youtu.be/4E7E0f9CozI

E39 handbrakes are terrible!

They are 4 speed auto too!

I only read real books - mostly Terry Pratchett and Douglas Adams type books (wierd) or murder/mystery - Harlan Coben, Sue Grafton, Kathy Riechs, Tara Moss, Tess Gerritson, Patricia Cornwell and Agatha Christie. I actually like to re-read the Pratchett and Adams ones quite often. I stop off at second hand shops in funny places, because they often sell a bunch of really good used books for really cheap (Ruawai has a couple of good shops I brought boxes of books from, and some small waikato towns). Readers Digest condensed books are good for in the Kombi too - not big and heavy. We don't do TV (too much crap), so it's all books, DVD, or internet... sometimes real people come over too, or we visit them

The dash repair won't have any effect on the engine, unless they've done some REALLY silly, and unrelated. Before jumping in and replacing coils, scan for codes. If your mechanic doesn't have the gear, you need a different mechanic - guesswork is a waste of money on these things. Even after reading the codes, someone who knows how to interpret them, and diagnose the issues needs to have a crack at it. I'd be suprised if you had multiple coil failures all at once, and one or two coils would still let the engine rev, it'd just be lacking power and be very rough feeling.

Hardly ever happens....

Actually... I'm the cook, (but she's good too) - I just rebuilt myself an old kenwood mixer, that I told her is my Christmas present... I don't think she knows how much it really cost me to do . We don't have TV, so DVDs appear a LOT for presents . She also tried to set fire to our old chopping board
-
I got her a cook book, some cooking show DVD's and..... a chopping board. All sorted.

Holy crap... it's like a reverse Tardis - Those mirrors look like they're from a car 3 times the size of the interior??? Are they for seeing EVERYthing behind you, or stopping the car going more than 4km/h over the limit?

HEY! You have the same safety boots as I do! The work is looking awesome too

Is this because racecar??? Otherwise, get a 325i. The 320i is slower AND hungrier.
