  1. Well done... what's with 870, 871, 872???? If they have those, maybe there should be some "fruity" ones for men with a Z3 "Special Control - Press Car" = If this one breaks down, someones swimming with the fishes.

Were you a bit bored??? or in trouble with her indoors??? Cheers, now find what each "edition" is

Possibly something to do with it being an SE maybe? It has a LOT of "options" not listed on the build sheet - The touring style side skirts, rear boot spoiler and side mirrors are all colour coded, fully lined bootlid with toolkit etc could all be covered by either that, or the "basisumfand fuer", which is something about "comprehensive". Or possibly even different country/climate specs - it has all the vents in the front valance, where some cars have them blocked or not even part of the pressing. I'd love to have a list that covered EVERYTHING available.
  4. They own the car when it gets de-registered. If you deregister it prior (only way to get fees back) then they don't pay out, because the ownership can't be changed to them.
  5. Supercharger? Caravan?
  6. Been through Mt Tiger a lot Way better than the coast road. Unless you have passengers! Which one is the $6k for? I think I'm confused now
  7. I thought Euro M5 had floating rotors???
  8. That may be the one my cousin sold - Same colour anyway. His one was owned by an old lady from new, until she died and left it to her mechanic, who sold it to my cousin. I offered to buy it... but he got a much better offer... plus I'm still married A 500 is totally on my car bucket list!
  9. I just fixed my retarded maths - it's 36mm further out than the usual E39 wheels (like 17x8, ET20's)
  10. The M50's are a little gutless down low - they need a bit of revs to get moving - the Vanos on the M52 helps to overcome some of that (as long as the Vanos seals are good). I remember it being one of the things the press noticed when they came out - the E30 was only a 12 Valve, but wasn't a low down grunter either - the big motor in a smaller body didn't make it noticable though. The M50 24 Valve suffered like most multivalve engines of the time - the difference was fairly obvious compared to the outgoing model. The manual trans versions are way betterer Also, comparing to your 318is isn't going to help either, as the 6 will always sound like it's revving more. I usually either ride my bike, or drive the 4 cyl VW van to work, so sometimes when I drive the E39 up those two steep hills closer to Parahaki, I think it feels a bit gutless... then I realise I'm only doing 1800-2000 rpm ... and it's still going up there as fast as a 2002 2.2 auto Camry I had from work, 'cept the foot was hard down in the Camry
  11. The cost of the iffy DSG mechatronic units would be enough to put me off buying a DSG... though that's part of the reason I like manuals - they rarely break, and I know how they work inside
  12. E39 offset for a 8" rim is ET20, so these are going to have the outer bead 36mm further out (assuming they really are ET+10 and allowing for the extra 12.5mm width). E39 wheels are a bit sunken, but nearly 40mm might be a bit much. Stealth Edit: Fixed retarded Maths!

You can't get much info for South African built cars, so could be one (or has the identity from one, fraudulently ) - Most Jap Import 325i's are Souuth African, though the 320i's and 318i's were more usually German built.
  15. I think it has a replacement muffler - so only one tip. There'a good chance it will sounds like crap, but you never know! Check heavily underneath for rust - it's from snowy Canada, and early E36's sometimes had issues underneath, around the rear subframe mounts and chassis members. Didn't someone on here have a REALLY early one that was rooted from rust underneath (1990 build date - 1991 model year)? You might have to come for a visit - the bush is starting to grow back! Hmmm... do I recall the US model Versions (like this one) coming with some shitty 4 speed US made autobox?
  16. You could have my E39 for 10 K OK, you forced my hand - I'll take your 8K offer
  17. Japan system. Whip it out and burn it - might save you some gas without the weight
  18. I was driving from Dairy Flat out to Kaukapakapa a few years back, and on the last two corners before the junction, an E39 had shot off the road, seemingly cleared the fence and was sitting it the middle of a paddock at the end of some skidmarks, looking entirely undamaged Now, wheres the piccies of your bent one?

    Quick Questions

Empty the leaves out of the alternator one too - they're often entirely blocked (possibly leading to failures?)
  20. Crap - may as well make this one longer. It might help to confuse Blue A dent not much worse than your quarter - it was right on the wheel arch, and required a complete rear quarter fitted... in an Accord Wagon painted Pearl Black.
  21. I was once hit by a guy who had applied for his NZ license (after using his Koeran/International for 12 months), and had passed the test and had an NZ license given to him. It was initially a temporary one, while the proper one arrived in the mail. He wasn't told it was only an NZ learners! So his insurance refused to pay out on the accident, so he had to pay in cash to repair my car - $5500 in damage to just mine. So he'd been driving here on his Korean license, did the right thing, and applied for the NZ one, but they give him a learners, even though he's already been allowed to drive here on his FULL Korean license for 12 months. STUPID, STUPID system!
  22. Contact your bank now, so you can check the criteria you must meet to dispute a transaction - you don't want to miss out on THAT one!
  23. and a manual 'box? and... err... it's two owners . One would be extra cool
